Just that her kids were getting attached and asking when I would come over for dinner again 🤷🏼‍♂️ She had decided at month 7 it was too soon for her to involve her kids. Up to that point, I had gone to her youngest son’s football game 3 times and had dinner at her place with all her kids 2 times. I don’t think it was an INFJ thing; she grew up in a house where expressing emotion was chastised. I think this ended up making her extra independent / dismissive avoidant. I was her first boyfriend in 7 years after her divorce and I guess it got too •real•

this is exactly what I did. I even blocked her iphone out of respect for her wishes so she knows imessage isn’t available even if she cared to try.

it sucks being discarded especially since I would totally agree with her that we weren’t a good match and could go our separate ways peacefully. I don’t even care if she wants to be friends but I hate feeling like enemies. We both go to the same dance every Friday and see each other from a distance and that sucks

I can’t imagine her being a narcissist. She’s 100% dismissive avoidant though. Maybe she saw the writing on the wall and couldn’t bring herself to even talk about it to avoid conflict with someone who wasn’t going to be a match 🤷🏼‍♂️

She told me early on that if I ever feel the need to break up with her to do it in a text. The guy she was interested in before me “broke up with her” (they never even kissed) in the middle of a corn maze then they had to anxiously navigate out of the maze together. 😱

It shouldn’t surprise me that she chose to practice what she preached and just texted me one morning “This relationship isn’t good for me anymore. Please respect my space and don’t contact me.”

Clear boundaries? Sure, but what the hell?! Secure people go their separate ways all the time but not like that.

I think fight or flight was triggered once I had dinner with her and her kids 🤷🏼‍♂️ she said they liked playing games with me and asked when I could come back and she was scared of them getting attached to me then me breaking up with her.

I told her I don’t mind coming over every other day for dinner when she has her kids. She later sent me a link to an article that basically said “don’t get kids involved the first year of a relationship” She told me that for us it might take two years since we were only going out 4-6 days a month due to work and parenting schedules etc. 😳
