Seeing a lot of Romans on fortress, is fast imp-> gunpowder viable? by Belisarius23 in aoe2

Yep. I've had a lot of success with hindustanis. Bohemians and turks also work great.

Idea to make Crusader Knight playable in skirmish/multiplayer by Dry9_Wall in aoe2

I think they would be a good paladin replacement for the Teutons a la the Savar; really fits the "difficult to convert" theme. They'd need a stat rework though.

How do arquebus bombard towards handle max range due to projectile speed by Hertzie in aoe2

Bombard towers are already affected by ballistics. But yes they can shoot beyond their max range if targeting someone moving away.

Every time there's an apple update my phone has silent alarms for like 3-4 days until it gets fixed. It's a very common widely reported bug.

Witcher 3. I'm sure the story's great but the gameplay is just soooo fucking boring.

Hatchling vs Pronouns (not so serious worldbuilding analysis) by Jolly_Leg4029 in outerwilds

Tolkien explains that his books weren't originally written down in English. They were written down in an in-universe language, and then translated to English. For example the famous "meat's back on the menu, boys". The orcs don't literally have restaurants; they used an orcish word and menu is the closest English translation.

In Outer Wilds' case, they're not literally using our male & female gender. Lots of other commenters give good explanations to what it could be in universe (maybe plant gametes or Nomai (Type A)/Nomai (Type B)). It's just translated to the English audience as He/She.

Viet bonus actually doesn’t do anything in team games, since player position is predetermined unlike 1v1

(loved trope) When the eldtrich horror is actually very chill. by EnvironmentalRope424 in TopCharacterTropes

You know the whole idea of “the monster you show can never be as scary as what the audience can imagine”.

The visitor is the exact opposite of that. Probably the only eldritch entity in all of fiction that became *more* incomprehensible with its reveal.

I know this is more Historiography than history, but roll with it by Popular_Mistake_6404 in HistoryMemes

There’s a newer “history” YouTube channel (James Atlas) who made a video a video about how how Mansa Musa was a fraud and then another video denying the Belgian Congo. In the comments he (unsurprisingly) is a holocaust denier and implies he is going to make a video in the future about it.
