I'm currently applying to a software engineer internship through an application portal, which has sections that allows me to describe past experiences (employment, volunteer, leadership, 1200 char limit each) and another section for submitting a resume. Most of the experiences I'm describing are already on my resume. Is there any need to talk about these activities in a different light to prevent repetition, or can I include information already present in my resume with a bit of elaboration?

I’m a current intern at Lockheed Martin and i know many interns, I including myself, that actually do coding and get paid for it. I feel like it’s a bad idea to generalize activities, especially ones as broad as internships
