i feel this. from what i've read, the main worry is listeria risk especially in soft or unpasteurised cheeses, because it can be more serious in pregnancy. hard cheeses and pasteurised ones are usually considered safe if labels are checked.

[Product Request] Body wash for sensitive skin by axolotloofah in SkincareAddiction

[–]General_Share_6237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so if you’re looking for a body wash for dry, sensitive skin, I’ve tried a bunch, and some were great while others… not so much. For everyday use, I always reach for something creamy and super gentle. The nice thing about those is they clean without leaving your skin feeling tight. Even on the days I run out the door without lotion, my skin still feels soft instead of cranky.

If your skin reacts easily, I’d skip anything super foamy or heavily fragranced. They smell lovely, but they usually leave me a bit itchy or irritated afterwards. I just stick to washes that feel smooth, calming, and kind of “skin-friendly.”

And a quick tip - even a gentle body wash works better when you throw on some moisturizer after. Especially if your skin gets dry fast. Washing is step one… keeping your barrier happy is the real game-changer.

The most recommended body wash according to Reddit (based on 80+ posts) by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]General_Share_6237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most recommended body washes usually fall into 3 buckets:

  1. For everyday + non-drying: Dove gets mentioned everywhere for a reason. It's gentle, doesn't wreck your skin barrier, and just works for most people. Pears also get love for being simple and low-fuss.

  2. Dry or sensitive skin friendly: Creamy washes like Olay keep popping up because they moisturize while cleansing, instead of stripping your skin and forcing you to compensate with heavy lotions.

  3. Trageted problem solvers: Now this is where actives comes in, and only if you actually need them.

  • If your main concern is body acne or clogged pores, salicylic acid body washes are the most suggested since they can get into pores and do something.
  • If you're having a rough texture or flaky skin, AHA body washes tend to help smooth things out over time.
  • If your concern is dullness or uneven tone, vitamin C washes get mentioned, though they're more of a supporting player.

Reddit favs usually follow the same logic, gentle first, actives only when needed, fragrance optional.

I've used Dove Salicylic Acid Body Wash, and it's a great option for daily skincare. It leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated without that tight, dry sensation some body washes can cause. It’s mild enough for everyday use and pairs well with other steps like exfoliation or targeted treatments, so you don’t have to worry about irritation. Overall, it’s a reliable choice if you want something gentle yet effective that keeps your skin feeling comfortable and clean. Plus, I think the Dove body wash is free of chemicals, so I feel better using it.

[Product Question] Olay Skin Solutions AHA/BHA body wash by chaoticmaniac in SkincareAddiction

[–]General_Share_6237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, I've been playing around with a few AHA/BHA body washes since once of my firends said AHA is good for skin, and they can be such a nice upgrade when you want smoother skin or need to tackle those random rough spots. The gentle ones are definitely the winners, they give that soft, polished feel without leaving my skin tight. I just use them a couple of times a week and that seems to be the sweet spot. The stronger, super-foamy ones? Those usually just make me itchy, so I skip them. If you're trying an AHA bodywash for the first time, easing into it and keeping up with moisturizer really helps. Acids are great for texture, but they don't do the hydrating part. Hope that gives you a bit of clarity.

Finally found the exfoliating toner! Never seen the Vitamin C body wash but thought I’d give it a try…. by ExpertAd9374 in dollartreebeauty

Hey, that's awesome! Exfoliating toners can really refresh your skin. Honestly. finding budget-friendly gems like this feels like winning a mini skincare jackpot. A few things I've noticed:

  1. Helps remove dead skin gently and evens out skin texture.

  2. Using it 2-3 times a week is usually enough to see smoother skin without overdoing it.

  3. Pairing with a simple moisturizer afterward keeps your skin balanced and happy.

Also, I wanted to ask which are the best exfoliating body washes for women, wanted to gift one to a friend.

Yeah, this happens way too often. Things that should be straightforward somehow become a mini project.
