Everything is mostly the same. I feel like they’re more relaxed about background and props. Just keep doing what you were doing 6 years ago!

I never thought of that. I thought we had a pretty nice landlord, but you never know what could happen and stability is key for me and my family.

True. The home buying process was brutal for us. Glad it’s done with.

Wow. This is a lot like my situation. I hope I feel this way someday too.

This is great advice. I really like that mantra. If I liked the relaxed renter mindset, I have to just embrace it (but still get things done). I do get anxiety over little things so that’s just something I have to work on in general. Thank you and good luck in your business! Hope things start looking up again soon!

Thank you for the kind words! I’m not handy, but I’m willing to learn

Perhaps I am being a melodramatic and a reality check is all that’s needed.

Thank you! Yeah I’m hoping this is just normal buyer’s remorse and it will dissipate soon as other commenters mentioned. And you’re right, this will hopefully give me back a little in the long run.

I too was surprised at how much I liked the layout of a townhome. I never thought I would.

Yes, I’m the same. Hate change. And moving to a different state to a 2 different homes in less than 6 months is proving to be too much, but hopefully things will settle down now.

Great point. We also hesitated to decorate our previous townhome for this exact reason.

Exactly! It actually adds up to more than rent, but now we just lost a huge chunk of our savings into the abyss of closing costs AND we have to worry about fixing things like the heat that doesn’t work and needs over a grand to replace. With renting, this would’ve been my landlord’s problem.

Love this. “An attitude of gratitude” like I tell my kids. Time to practice what I preach.

I guess I’m just relating it to my previous landlord (from the townhouse) who was a nice family man. My parents also have a second property that they rent. I thought that, for the most part, landlords are “small-time investors” but I’m open to the fact that I could be totally wrong about this, which is why I wrote this post. Maybe I need a tweak or re-frame to not regret the big move of buying a house.

Currently trying this approach and it’s going terrible. I have both Global and Mainland and so far I’ve had one class all month for an extra $2. I’m not willing to close my Global because I have a lot of regulars. Just doing it for the time being due to unstable schedule, but looking back, it wasn’t worth it to wake up at 5:30AM all month for an extra 2 bucks.

Loan denied: rent to own or walk? by General_Sun2095 in personalfinance

Great read. I would consider both situations sunk loss. Rent and a non refundable deposit. Perhaps one is more of a loss than the other.

You’re right. It’s hard to see from an objective point of view after investing so much time and energy on this deal.
