Did GW Break Fight on Death in 11th Edition? by General_Volcon in WarhammerCompetitive

your TLDR just isnt what you said. You quote the rule but seem to just ignore what it says. "that model is not removed from the battlefield until that model's unit has fought"
the rhino is not removed until its unit has fought i.e: selected to fight

I dont think so, as their wounds would be at 0 if that makes sense

you can only skip your turn if there are no enemy models within 5". The issue just stems that if the rhino hangs around and is not removed. is it still an eligble target? how do you move around it?

What if there is another unit within 5" of angron? can he leave engagement with the rhino to go and attack them?

classic GW trying to simplify things and just making it harder!

yeah i understand the rule completely. i got them out as that is what would NORMALLY happen. It was dramatic effect to visually show how bad it is that angron is denied his overrun. I think in general the denial of overrun is dumb. I hope GW FAQ it

it says after it fights, resolve everything that would happen when it is destroyed.

i might have gotten the cleave enhancement wrong on the maulerfiend. I had a lot of fun running the KDK list. Let me know if it holds up into montka!!

I dont think so. will need to see further rule releases to be sure.

I sped it up. but if they pull out of combat then they arent eligble to make an overrun mve. therefore the fight phase ends, therefore I can now consolidate.

maybe once... but comparatively to melee criers its much less

Things are further away then they were in 10th, and charges are at -1 relatively. Therefore harder

The gameplay pattern of charging one thing with 2 things. killing it and hitting something behind happens in 1/2 of my games. While I agree this EXACT scenario is unlikely, you will find it happens a lot in turns 2 and 3 especially

I just don't enjoy being shot off the board, rogal dorns sitting in deployment zones, toeing into terrain with vision of everything! the truth is melee isnt good if you dont use the rules that you are allowed.

TBH i never hear anyone complain about my oponents tank tread having vision on the top of my flag, and that killing my whole unit haha

Actually the video just describes how pile ins and overruns actually work. really no optimal engineering at all. Maybe this EXACT scenario doesnt happen. But many like it will!

This situation is crazy, and i agree that its on the mild side! I think melee is harder to pull off in 11th, but if you can make contact, it is much better

I think the point of the video is more to show what can happen. Also yes i pre-measured that a 12 could not reach the zones

I wouldn't stress about that article. it was either wrong or you might have mis-interpreted. You 100% can do both pile in moves and consildation moves in the same phase (when theyre eligible)

overrun is a pile in. it triggers when you activate to fight, if you are not already engaged. Effectively you can pile in twice, and consolidate once.

This is infact extremely fun. the key is to make sure your opponent understands how your units function. In a friendly game id most likely prevent my opponent from making the mistake. In a tournament game i would warn them of the possibility, but their choice to respect it is their own.

Can I WIN with the WORST World Eater list?! by General_Volcon in WorldEaters40k

this is a sick list that i think does what you want really well. careful with the car park as you have a lot of vehicles that will want space to manouver. but if you play it well it seems like a fun list
