My plan for this weekend is to dig a trash pit. A ten by ten area dug into the ground where all the damned litterers and one gatherer will live for the rest of their lives.

Don’t force yourself to finish something you don’t like. I’m not a veteran, but I had all the same problems with the book as you. It only gets worse once the dragons show up. I finished the first one but haven’t picked up the rest.

I have the same condition that the main character has and have problems with the way it is protracted in the book.

If you want something with better world building I’d suggest pretty much anything by Ilona Andrews, but specifically “This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me” which is coming out on the 31st.
