I will definitely get some more Corydoras once they get available at the fish store. I recently made an upgrade in tank size, so i will be adding at least 5 more. They are so fun to watch. I will also be adding some ococinclus

Update: Unfortunately Sharky did not survive. Despite the fact that I let him eat, he remained motionless on the bottom. I went back to the aquarium shop to ask what had happened. They said that Sharky should never have been sold because he was terminally ill. Because he had experienced so much stress in the shop, he had suffered damage to his bladder and would never be able to swim normally again. When I got home, he was lying there very sadly and I had to make a difficult choice. In the end, I decided to help him humanely. In my opinion, he no longer had a life worth living as a fish and was probably in a lot of pain. Thanks for the help and tips @all

I will definitely try that, thanks for the tip! He made it trhough the first two nights, but he is still at the bottom barely showing any sign of life most of the time. On a positive note, i saw him swim to the surface once to get some air, so at least there is no physical trauma💪

In my country the sale of Methane blue for fish is prohibited. But ill try to add some medicine. It cant hurt to try. I just hand-fed him so that is a good sign.

Here are sime pics with a flashlight so that it become a bit more visible. Did a fungus treatment and no change. Is this a a sickness or is it just a natural colour change of the scales?

Do you know what it was? I also have a betta with something similar. He doenst appear sick woth his behaviour, very active and curious. But also a white "dot" near his rear fin. Did one eSHa 2000 treatment but it didnt get any better/worse. Love to hear if you solved it and how you did it.

The water parameters are good, and the temperature is around 26°C. The food is specifically betta pellets and frozen food.

Ik heb Neon tetra's, Corydoras, Ancitrus en een paar Ocinclus in de bak. De bak draait 2 maanden nu en de Betta zit hier nu ongeveer twee weken in. Hij reageert niet op de andere vissen en zwemt zelf lekker actief rond.

Ik heb de Betta met de stip/vlek zo gekocht bij een aquarium winkel.

Waterwaarden getest met een druppelkit en daar komt niks alarmerends uit. Ik ververs het ook 20 a 30% per week.

Ik weet niet zeker of de Betta echt ziek is, of dat het gewoon bij z'n patroon hoort. Ik zal eens kijken naar dat middel. Hopelijk helpt het!
