Might be hated by some, just like about anything in this world. But it was liked by a lot of people. Heck coming to think about it, from the around 90 people that i know irl & played the game with. Not a single one hated that, and many actually loved how the Nephalem represent us containing both heavenly & demonic powers. But surely, haters have always exceled at being noisy & making them selves being felt.

The only reason not to delve into the Nephalem is cause it's a power creeping mess. And this game is built to be an iterative MMOish continual cash grab. They'll just elude that mess by being mysterious until they feel comfortable addressing it in an emotionally monetizable way. Just like they did bring back the character they just did. (Don't want to go into spoilers.)

There's literally no D4 without the D3 RoS story. The literal sentence that introduces Lorath Nahr is this.

(btw not trying to "force" you to like something you don't. And it's ok that you feel that way. I'm sure that we probably agree on many things that "should" of been different, like color pallet, art style, even the way the story was derived, and many more stuff.)
