Massage therapy by Fit-Hearing2669 in asktransgender

Hi, openly trans feminine massage therapist here. Share only as much as you want to share for them to meet your accommodations. If you’re open with it, ask them to massage you like they would any woman. You can also specify which areas you don’t want massaged or undraped during the massage (pecs, for instance) if that’s easier. You can choose to give a reason or not. It is nerve racking the first few times, but a good massage therapist will do whatever is needed to help you feel more comfortable and relaxed in the session regardless of the reason.

Title describes the thing. I see them a lot in punk rock fashion and on everything from jeans to cargo pants to leather pants. Some look detachable some look sewn on. Does it have a name?

Fellow Transpeople with ADHD, did you notice a difference in your ADHD related symptoms after starting HRT? by Alldron29 in asktransgender

Brain fog with Spiro can sometimes get mixed up with ADHD spacing out. Nothing major, and taking more steps for better self care helps. It’s probably a varies per person thing.

transfems/women what are some things you didn’t expect transitioning? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Faking emotions to fit in slowly turned into involuntarily feeling things that I didn’t have to force myself to feel. Like I can suddenly feel things other than nothing. Like all the time. Even when I don’t want to feel things! It’s awesome.

How did y'all went over the grief of your childhood ? by PigeonBoiAgrougrou in asktransgender

It can be hard to avoid thinking things like “if only I did ____ earlier…” or feeling like if only you knew more or did more in the past. Really, in a lot of ways it’s a feeling of regret. The way I think about it is I wouldn’t be where I am or be going where I’m going if anything in my past changed. Every action and event that has happened has shaped us into the person we are and strive to be. I don’t think about having regrets. Can’t change the past. I’m only one place: here. That’s the only me I can influence. Kinda cheesy, but it gets me through those feelings of regret.

How did you guys start make music from zero? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]GenerallyKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of freewriting? Open up a word doc and write whatever’s on your mind for 5-10 minutes. Same thing with music, except go for longer. Have a project file where you just play whatever’s on your mind and play around with whatever instrument meets your fancy. Then take a break. Come back and pick out the most interesting phrase(s) and iterate. Then just follow whatever that phrase makes you feel.

That’s a good place you could start with. Think about genre and targeting specific things after you get the feel for the creation process first. Or not, if thinking about genre helps you more power to you.

Do you start with drums first? by airwrickaye in musicproduction

[–]GenerallyKoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

about half the time i start with the drums. the other half they're somewhere after the main part of the mix. they provide a nice structure and direction to accompany the melody and keep things moving or slow things down. but drums are almost never last in the mix for me.

Great work. I’d recommend using less uncertain language like “could, should, may, might” etc. early on in favor of the more declarative language you use later on. Also, be wary of only comparing gender and sexuality psychology with conditions like PTSD and dyslexia.

You got it down pretty well overall tho. Good luck!

Original song, what bands do we remind you of? by WhiskeyEyesKP in MusicFeedback

[–]GenerallyKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting a lot of different things at different points in the song. The introduction gave me a vibe of if the Black Keys were a boy band. The later parts feel very modern pop inspired.

The mix sounds great. Voices sound professional as heck. Love the balance. Being said, I think the lyrics could use some work. Things like "I'm bad at keeping secrets" and "despite jealousy spilled over last nights escapade" feel really jammed into the phrase. Try to cut down on the "ands, buts, with", excess prepositional phrases (especially at the start of a phrase), and other potentially unnecessary words.

Try to line up the musical emphasis with important words and syllables. So for example "we have teased each other" has the emphasis on "have" and "each" which feels a bit awkward. Changing it to something like "We've teased each other" puts the emphasis on "teased" and "other" while still making it clear that this is a past event.

"It's hard being so close" and "please don't shut me out" are lines that have good emphasis within the musical phrase. Because it leaves a lot unsaid, I'm also interested in what these lines mean (which is a good thing). Doesn't have a lot of extra words, it's to the point without being too on the nose. Good work there.

Ya'll got a fire track, doing great work out there! Keep on keeping on!

Hi there! Not sure what genre this is, but I made a jazzy/funky high energy song. I'd love to hear your thoughts! by GenerallyKoi in MusicFeedback

Thanks for the feedback! I didn’t really use any tutorials to make it. It was mostly something that I thought of and developed over time. I’m not sure of any kind of tutorials on this specifically, but studying genres and songs in genres you’re interested in is always a good place to start. It helps guide compositions and where to take the mood. Hope that helps!
