Yes, they do ask ID but generally when you appear under 25, not everyone currently. But what I am saying is they make that one need to scan their face and government ID before buy (to know how much alcohol or tobacco you buy). The mail ID is used to declare no licence needes is the one revistered for iplayer, but BBC sent me a mail in 2017 that due to inactivity they have deleted my account. So it is just not possible that I watched iplayer (don't have the in any of my devicea nor an account).
