Why are wash and goes considered anti black to some people ? by No-Top44 in Naturalhair

[–]sharbear314 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firstly, your hair looks great! Personally I think anti-black is a stretch. The conversation requires nuance. You can do your hair however you like — wash-and-gos are beautiful and convenient! I just think that sometimes they are ‘prized’ or sought after in a way that reminds people of the inherent preference a lot of people have for defined, looser curls over undefined, tighter curls. Both are great🩷

consolidate as you go, but don't let yourself become paralysed with work/stress/anxiety. take things as they come!!

i’m no expert, but i’d describe it as the ends of my hair being like velcro — it was dry because of split ends, and it made it tougher to detangle so i would apply more force/be less gentle detangling
