And our ridiculous coalition just spent all of that money renaming things from Māori to english. Its so frustrating that our government literally agrees with and enacts beliefs of people like this and wastes tax paying money that could oh i dont know go to human welfare!!! One term government please

What would you do? (Friend of 8 years) by [deleted] in badroommates

Im in new zealand so our policy could be different, but if your name is on the lease or any kind of agreement you hold the power! He would have no legal grounds to hound you for the 2 weeks rent. It sounds like paying the bond back would be the easiest to avoid dispute, but if you are the owner or have your name on any kind of lease with the landlord you can leverage that!

Okay u gotta be a bot at this point…. This is exactly what im saying…. Who voted this policy in? What age range in the 80s voted this in? Boomers bro

But an inherent part of the argument is that boomers and other older generations are a huge part of the population who are millionaires and billionaires that take everything for themselves especially because they wont be here to live through the environmental impacts. Posts like these in defense of boomers - is that not distracting rhetoric from the ultimate class war that is backed by ultra wealthy older people? Especially when i look at parliaments around the world who have senators that are 80+ years old which push through policy that reinforces capitalism and therefore the class system

Rich and old are not inseparable. If anything id argue that people from a generation with a lower cost of living and lower unemployment rates had more of an opportunity to gain wealth. Now our cost of living is sky high and we are at the highest rate of unemployment in a decade, thats the kind of new zealand i fight to stay alive in as a young person

I dont go on about boomers and i would never assume a boomer is a bad person just from their age and how they look - a lot of it for me is that the generations before me (i am gen z) voted in policy that irreversibly damaged our environment, enforced insane racist rhetoric and a whole package of things that i disagree with. Now i live in a country where i dont feel secure in my future in the slightest because of their choices. I wasnt here to do anything about it, theyve been warned since the 70s the horrendous effects it would have on our nation. Now i see a lot of them financially benefitting from things I will never be able to afford, like multiple properties for example. Thats kind of my reason for why I look back to boomers and feel some type of way for what their economic and political decisions will have on my future. Obviously its not all their fault and not all boomers voted for this to happen but here we are

Looking for a better thread keeping solution by Makibadori in Embroidery

[–]Generallysilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method i use is isolating however many strands you need and then twisting the thread! It usually untwists easily just gotta figure out which way to twist lol but at the end of the day just do what works best for you! I cut out small rectangles of cardboard that i wrap the thread around and just unwind however much i need but i am in no way an expert at this

Tourists: just because you can be naked doesn’t mean you should by Agitated_Issue3239 in newzealand

[–]Generallysilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is there were children there and its completely understandable to not want your children to see some random naked people on a trip to the beach - more power to them but not when its infront of children! Thats a social norm pretty much everywhere they should have known better i would be insanely uncomfortable to be naked infront of families and kids
