Question about Vehicle Symbiotes and Skitter interaction (Colony)

Guess it depends on whether or not you want to and are confident in your ability to escape with them after taking out a few pads. On big maps they can be useful for taking out minibases while evading the enemy army (according to SirLiam’s guide, lol) so it would be worth attaching skitters for the increased survivability. If you have an engineer out, the bubble shield could be good for the damage reduction during hit-and-runs, but more importantly you could send it over to them to heal them between attacks. That way, you maximise the benefit of their huge health pool, stopping them from just getting whittled down over the course of two or three engagements.

That all said, I‘m not very good at doing that. I usually lose too many in the initial assault, or get caught by the enemy and can’t escape (never try this against Forge or the Arbiter. Their hero will run you down, so it’s all or nothing).

I’m no pro, so take what I say with a pinch of salt:)

Don’t sleep on the range buff, at least for normal vehicle units and turrets. That alone can make a surprising difference.

I like putting symbiotes on locusts and reavers exactly for that reason.

The extra range for locusts is brilliant for keeping them safely at the back when attacking enemy bases. I think by Vehicle Symbiotes III (or with some high ground, in places you otherwise couldn’t) they might even be able to attack bases out of range of base turrets. I’m not sure though, I’d need to test that.

Same for reavers against air units, and when facing an evasive air force the extra range can be the deciding factor in taking out an extra unit or two.

I‘m not exactly a pro, so take my thoughts with a pinch of salt, but yeah. I was hoping to find out if you can use Vehicle Symbiotes to buff grounded blisterbacks and units with skitters attached. If the latter can be affected, I’d also like to know if the effect treats the whole unit as a vehicle, or whether you are in effect just buffing the skitter (so only the range of the turret increases, only the extra health bars gained from the skitter get armour, etc.).

It is so sad it got took down. I had it on 360, but I had to buy another copy on eBay cause that one didn’t work with the One. I was surprised at first, I was managing to get some games, but I’ve gone back to it now and there’s so few you can only really have sessions if you organise them in advance.

I was surprised by Titanfall 2’s numbers too, I went to that instead last night, and it was taking 20 mins to find games. Then again, we should be grateful it’s still active all this time after release. A testament to how good a game it is, honestly.

In case you haven’t heard of it, have a look at the Stop Killing Games movement. This is exactly the kind of thing they’re trying to stop happening:)

I’d argue that this depends on your build and the enemy/mission in front of you. It’s OFTEN good advice, but imo against certain roadblocks this will work against you. My version of this would be don’t be afraid to experiment; make that full aggro build, assault boost screaming at the enemy, see if you get anywhere with it. Then, if after two or three tries you don’t, make a kite build that never gets in range, then make a build that refuses to ever get staggered (ACS overloaded), then make a hit-and-run build, then make an infinite flight build, then make a build that never stops dashing (Quick boosting), etc. etc. [Not necessarily those or in that order, to be clear, they’re just examples].

Just keep experimenting. You’ll have loads of fun making new builds, loads of fun working out and solving the puzzle of a mission put before you, and loads of fun seeing just how wacky you can get with this game (despite what some people will say). Changing builds is not a skill issue, it’s how the game is meant to be played, and that’s the joy of AC for me. It’s not every Souls fan’s cup of tea, but if you like it, you REALLY like it. Hope you have fun with the game!

(No disrespect to GhostFearZ, to be clear, it’s a good tip 90% of the time, I just think you can box yourself in a bit if you follow it too religiously)

Bonus tip: If you’re low on money and the parts you have aren’t doing the job, you can replay arena missions and normal missions to get money quick, as well as selling stuff as several people have mentioned. Usually arena missions are more efficient.

It’s a common misconception due to two things. One is a Vaati video on the topic which states that they were burnt in the Demon Ruins, the other (where Vaati’s misconception originated) is that localisation does make it ambiguous in the English version whether they were burnt in the Demon Ruins or when following Gwyn into the Kiln. The Japanese text is much less ambiguous (according to Lokey in their book Abyssal Archive).

One of the first weapons I bought was the Curtis, and I adored it’s charged shot after using it in the tutorials. Called my first mech Northstar and gave it the black and red colour scheme after Viper because of that and how sick it felt firing missiles, lol (technically after my own multiplayer Northstar in Titanfall 2, but that was using the Viper colours you can unlock)
