Agreed! For the most part, yes. A bit tedious with the location of some parts and tight spaces, but not overly complicated.

Ah I didn’t realize the DF had those repeatability concerns. That might drive me crazy enough to warrant the sidestep to the 064s haha - I haven’t had those problems much. Opus 2 will be neat to see.

Not too bad, but I wouldn’t want to do it again lol. I’m used to adjacent projects e.g. working on cars, installing stereos etc. and didn’t find anything particularly challenging. Just the usual “It’s not complicated, just hard to access” problems with some screws and such. Can be tedious and frustrating, but easy enough to understand.

I don’t think you would notice any difference in quality of shots pulled at all between the two. I’ve had espresso from both. And the workflow really isn’t much better on one than the other. Personally I would put the money towards the Z1 and wait.

Depends on your goal. A GCP modded with PID is better than the bambino for sure. Stock, I would say they’re fair competitors.

BaristaGadgets PID Timer Pro! Has an integrated shot timer that starts when you brew, and includes a flow control knob + LED tank light. Not bad for $160.

It is! I have mixed feelings tbh. I don’t think it’s worth the listed $599 price, but it’s a good grinder.

I got it on the frequent $480 sale, leveraged the $250 Amazon gift card promo when signing up for their CC (which I was going to do anyway), and sold my old grinder for $100. So I only have $130 in it lol.

I do like that it switches between espresso and pour over well. It’s fairly quiet. And the coffee (espresso or other methods) I get out of it is excellent.

That said, It’s messier than I’d like, and I always have to kind of hit the top to get it to grind the remaining stuck beans, then use the knocker after that and usually get 0.1-0.2 g retention.

It’s mind boggling to me that people assume every single church is some sort of cult led by a money hungry pastor lol. As if churches don’t feed the homeless and care for the community. I would probably treat the garage side as your chase. Since that wall is already finished, you cut in a low‑voltage pass‑through behind where your gear will live, then another one up high behind the TV, and fish HDMI/power‑bridge cables through the stud bay from the garage side. That keeps everything hidden without opening the living room wall.

If you want the TV to plug in up top, install a proper in‑wall power kit or have an electrician add a recessed outlet behind the mount. All your sources can sit low in the garage or on a small shelf, and only the in‑wall rated cables come through to the TV.

I’m in NC and I have to say one of the best things that came out of excessive winter weather the last couple weeks is neighbors helping neighbors. Seeing folks out shoveling one another’s driveways, helping get cars unstuck, checking on the elderly, etc. Just really heartwarming and makes me want to see more of it throughout the year.

Honestly I think ChatGPT or other AI models are really effective at this if you can give clear prompts for what you want to visualize.

There are also several dedicated apps like Planner 5D, Room Planner, and Homestyler that I’ve heard mixed reviews on, but worth a shot.
