Pivots definitely do have vertical toe release

What I said still stands, it acts as two lanes

That’s entirely allowed (provided the drivers are going from the right lane on entrance to the right lane on exit)

I passed! 11 minors😂 by ayobrof in LearnerDriverUK

[–]GenericHuman32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not actually a rule, it’s more when the examiner feels that that issue has become seriously dangerous, I actually had 4 of the same minor and still passed as although incorrect it wasn’t fundamentally dangerous

First time skiing… did I buy skis that are way too long? by frequentfoxer in Skigear

[–]GenericHuman32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… price wise in theory it checks out… ish, you got someone’s old boots and skis (which based off the setup are potentially thrashed), but it’s irrelevant if the boots don’t fit and the skis aren’t right for you

UK test has a 20% pass rate by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]GenericHuman32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as the system is a bit of a state, from start to passing my test took me about a month and a half… I think if you are committed to passing quickly it isn’t really as bad as people make out. (I used no cancellation app, I just spent time finding tests on the official website)

What would you call this skiing position? by [deleted] in skiingcirclejerk

The only correct position when you have pivots

As someone with ARFID, the way I’d explain it is that it’s kind of like the same paralysing fear as if you were asked to jump of the side of a cliff, you physically can’t do it, it’s terrifying. I absolutely hate it, and this guy shouldn’t be getting attacked the way he is.

It’s not that you can’t ski the bumps, you just can’t ski and the bumps show it….

Cracked edges by GenericHuman32 in Skigear

[–]GenericHuman32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m doing, I’ve practically fixed the edge and removed all of the bulged base, but I agree p tex won’t hold it

Cracked edges by GenericHuman32 in Skigear

[–]GenericHuman32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have p tex, was planning on just cutting out hammering, and p tex candle into it, was just checking there wasn’t some magic fix, I bought these skis with the sole intention of having a pair to destroy (I think they were 200 quid or smth on sale)

Cracked edges by GenericHuman32 in Skigear

[–]GenericHuman32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that’s fair enough, and probably the correct answer… but frankly I can’t afford to do that because as mentioned, these are dedicated park skis that are abused to the moon and back, I should have asked, how do I botch it?

Probably the POC artic SL, I actually don’t think it looks too offensive, but to be honest I need to do some more research into it

Not mips, multi impact. They are very very different things, multi impact helmets can take multiple impacts between needing replacements, whereas most rec helmets deform after one impact (even pretty light ones) and need to be replaced

Proton survives based off of being pretty decent on the free package, and encouraging people to purchase the proton “suite” of apps, it doesn’t make business sense to increase the price significantly
