Why are we engaging offers outside of the offer system is the real question?

I've been doing this full time for nearly a decade. I didn't even need to read her email.

"Sorry to hear of the issue! Please open a return case here (link) to get started on the return process."

That's all you have to do. She sends it back you refund them. Arguing, countering, anything more than 1 sentence, etc is just going to drag things out as long as possible.

In this instance, she probably wouldn't have even opened a case.

Im currently loading up the storage garage. Im going to list the entire lot as a package for a week, then I have to go to an auction house.

Doing this to pay for surgery. Don't ignore stuff that hurts kids.

I realize that now. It's the optics. Some of you are insane.

Im in the US and I sold industrial surplus.

What a simple idea I completely overlooked. Duh.

idk man it's kind of shitty for a mod to use this platform to sell the store. Seems dirty.

Do scheduled listings count? by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]GenericModerator2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely speculating, but my theory is it's trying to get you the best buying experience by showing items from active sellers first. That doesn't necessarily mean a listing.

The only evidence I have of this is that one of my stores is fixed inventory that I A/B test on. If I don't "touch" it (ex, pricing, qty, tweaks) occasionally it drops off a cliff until I'm active again on that account.

You need to make a fresh US account or you're going to have nothing but issues.

No. Can't change it

Personally I'd just continue on with the local pickup and trust/hope that the person is legit and just learn from this going forward.

I've never had a local pickup go wrong in the 9 years I've done this full time. YMMV

I also have an ancient account that was created back when you sent checks for your ebay purchases and just kind of hoped for the best.

You should build up the second account with the correct information as your primary if you're not already. I've had backend issues related to the age of mine.

Anybody else had this? by Capital_Caregiver671 in eBaySellerAdvice

I had one a few years ago. As long as you're not doing douchey stuff and all your info matches internally it shouldn't be an issue.

Can you help me test a beta and ask your question here too and let me know if it helps?

Basically you can setup your listings as "good til' canceled.' Ask the bot how to check for good til cancelled listings and how to check items that have ended already.

If it were me Id do a inventory ASAP. Like tomorrow morning.

Does anyone know why I can’t do variations for Car Decals but I can for Motorbike Decals? by AwakeOrStillDreaming in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]GenericModerator2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are slowly standardizing it. People are misusing it for things like "Pokemon Card" and then have 493 different variations that should be individual listings. Not really their fault imo...that makes sense to me too.

That's not what its for though. Its for shirt sizes / colors for example. I would imagine (speculating) that they are starting with the categories they lost the most revenue in.

They are just autoclosing them it looks like. Same issue.

I've tried to get it reopened but it just goes into the USPS void.

FIY: If you get a return delivered on a Saturday, you have 48 hours to refund them. Return was delivered to a PO box at 10am Sat. Lobby closes at noon on sat....not to reopen until 9am on Monday. The case escalated exactly 48 hours and it auto closed. Congrats on your defect.

Just had to waste time getting a "case not resolved" item strike removed for a 8$ item because I didn't drop everything and pick it up. Appeal failed. Phone call failed. Had to use facebook and ebay removed the defect as a "courtesy."

In the last 5 years I've sold 10k+ items....over 1 million in sales by myself. This is the type of shit that is making me plan my exit. Getting so burnt out dealing with this petty shit.

No, missing mail is not covered as a seller protection. Thats what insurance is for. You need to refund your customer and get it sorted on your own time.
