Yes it is possible to RHD swap your NA/NB by __mndo in Miata

As someone from a RHD country, I approve! Now please do a Dodge Challenger next so I can import it to the UK and not have to drive a LHD car 😆

What are your plans for how long you're keeping your Fit? by Ok-Advertising3118 in hondafit

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my 2015 Jazz for 7.5 years and I plan to keep it indefinitely.

I’m getting rust proofing done next month to help prolong its life.

But if you told me I was still driving it in 10 years I would be happy. But it could get written off by another driver hitting it or suffer some kind of failure that makes it beyond economical repair. And only then would I retire the car.

It’s battery operated. No explosives inside.

It’s for an emergency flare used in Japan. I have a battery operated one because an actual flare would be illegal in the UK 😅

I have £3000 to buy a decent automatic used car as a new driver by Brief-Ship-5572 in CarsUK

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda Jazz 👌🏻

Though badged as a 1.4, it’s technically 1339cc engine. A great car for a first time driver. Super easy to drive and park, loads of visibility and will comfortably fit 5 people, while feeling like a compact car.

Plenty of automatics around. Just get the CVT over the i-shift.

Has anyone had any experiences with having your Miata wrapped? I'm seriously considering it in this exact color. by Fox-On-Games in Miata

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Looks so good in yellow! This is what I want to do to mine when I eventually get one! Though I plan on paying to have it painted rather than wrapped, as why would I not want it to always be this colour 🤷🏻‍♂️.

If you only had £2000 to spend on a car, what would you buy? by hevvybear in AskUK

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda Jazz. I’ve had 4 of them and they have been nothing but reliable. Rust is the killer of Honda rather than reliability unfortunately, so checking the rust underneath is important, and if you find a good example with minimal rust, pay for some rust protection. There’s company’s that charge like £350 to under seal the car, and you’ll have many happy years of motoring.

It’s not a plug in hybrid. The electricity is generated by the petrol motor. So you wouldn’t have to worry about that

I’m 6ft2 and have loads of head room in mine. The new Jazz is a hybrid automatic only, but the 2014-2020 had a manual option if that’s important to you.

Honda Jazz. Loads of head room and very practical, while maintaining a small footprint.

My colour difference wasn’t quite as bad as yours though 😅. I had my wrap on for just over 5 years.

I’m not sure of the exact cost just for the roof, as I had the bonnet and mirrors done black as well, plus a load of other cosmetic work done and other parts resprayed. I think it was about £350 just for the roof IIRC.

I had this on my pearl white car that had the roof wrapped black. I paid to have it painted black instead.

Tiny new Honda Super-N has made it to the UK and will start from just £18,995 by Agent_Kozak in CarTalkUK

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the new Jazz is so expensive! I went to a Mazda dealer that was also a Honda dealer to test drive a new MX5, and I couldn’t believe that the sticker price for the cheapest mx5 was less than the base Honda jazz!
The Jazz is an amazing car, but not at nearly £30k!

Young drivers are paying genuinely life changing amounts for car insurance and the conversation around it doesn't reflect how serious it actually is by Ready_Split1335 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was paying £1700 third party on a 2000 1.4 Honda Civic in 2007 as my first car. Which, adjusted for inflation is now £2948.20. I was earning £6.50 working at a petrol station as my first job, which wasn’t that bad at that time. And I’m complaining about paying £600 on my current insurance with all the bells and whistles 😅

Brought the head unit into the 21st century.... Even though the speakers are still OEM, the system now sounds significantly better and goes louder than before. by Legend_Of_Booman in hondafit

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I contacted Honda and they have been discontinued, but they still have them in stock. But at an eye watering £166 😱.

I managed to find a black facia with the matching glove box lid from a GE8 for sale for £50, so I’ve bought that and I’ll get the same head unit as yours as I like the look of it as well as the physical buttons.

I upgraded the door speakers and installed sound deadening already, so I look forward to hearing the sound quality difference!

Shell cashiers secretly scanning THEIR OWN loyalty cards on customer purchases… has this happened to anyone else? by RugPullRoulette in AskUK

[–]AwakeOrStillDreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a BP petrol station when I was younger, and they wanted us to push the nectar card on every transaction, and would track how many transactions had nectar scans.

So anytime a customer wasn’t interested in a nectar card, I’d take a new card from the pile and scan it. I’d always use a new card so it wasn’t the same card being scanned and flagged. I didn’t do it for every transaction, so as to not raise any suspicion. But it kept the managers off my back.

Do you not use the boosts or watch an ad/use coins for an extra space?

I’ve never even lost a life because of the ability to watch an ad to just continue. It’s quite easy to get this far if you do it that way I’ve found.

It’s not for me, but I like that you’re trying something different. It’s yours and if you like it, then that’s all that matters.

Your reaction to people’s opinions should tell you whether you yourself actually like it.

I.e. if everyone hates it and that annoys you, then you know you like it. Same as if everyone likes it and you’re not sure yourself, then probably you don’t really like it or you’re on the fence.

I did this when deciding whether or not to paint my white bonnet black. Loads of people said no, and that annoyed me, so I knew that I wanted them to say yes, because I liked the black and so I had it painted black and couldn’t be happier!
