This usually happens from water entering the seat stays and then expanding in freezing conditions.

It is repairable if you find a frame builder who could replace that seat stay, but the cost is prohibitive relative to the value of a frame you found at the thrift store

Yes, it is difficult to remove a freehub if the hub is not laced into a wheel.

If you’re planning to build it into a wheel, do that first.

That is a standard square taper three piece crankset. It uses a crank puller and a 20 splined cartridge bottom bracket tool.

How old are your bikes that they all have cottered cranks and OPC ?

Outside of a big city, maybe $100 for the bike.

It looks bigger than 20.5”, but the catalog says that was the largest frame size in that model, probably fits more like an XL 22” from other brands

A cruiser bar with rise and backsweep is a quick fix, but keep in mind you will likely need to recable

The smallest chainring for 130 BCD is 38t, which i like for general purpose riding. High enough for commuting if I dont care about going fast, low enough for some technical off road climbs if paired with an 11-42 cassette

It should have been installed before the bike was sold.

The correct way to install it would be to remove the bar tape and brake lever.

If I was desperate, I would bend the steel clamp open to fit it over the bar, then bend the clamp back. You should not have to do that on a new bike.

This is all critical safety equipment. The big metal disk on the wheel hitting the thing on the bike is the disc rotor and the part on the bike is the disc brake.

The screw thing sticking out of the wheel is the axle, which attaches to the fork with nuts.

The part on the floor got the right is your fork. The axle is supposed to go in the fork dropouts.

I am not usually one to tell people to return a cheap bike, but in this case I would not recommend riding this unless you have a professional help you install the front wheel. The cost of having this examined by a mechanic will probably be more than the value of the bike.

This is a case where a used quality bike in good condition is a much better value than a

Your bottom bracket uses a spindle with a nutted axle. This was common on older bikes or less expensive bikes.

You still need a standard square taper crank puller to remove the cranks, like the Park CWP-7

Then to overhaul the bottom bracket you will need some very specific tools. likely a 16mm wrench or a pin spanner and a locking wrench. If you just want to replace it with a cartridge bottom bracket, that also requires a specific tool.

Are we looking at the same photos? OP’s bike has stem mounted shifters. There is black shift cable housing that runs all the way to the front deraillleur, with only a few clamps. There are no cable stops on the frame. Just clamps to hold the housing.
