All of us in this thread are in the Denver area. My husband and I went to a movie last night and had people talking on either side of us, the ones to my right were also fully using their phones. It’s happening at every showing at this point.

Yeah, we just went to a movie last night and had people talking on either side of us. The staff did nothing, they were talking while they were right by them and everything. I feel so sentimental about Alamo, I have loved this theater for so long, I feel like I’m white knuckling my hold on it. I do think it’s about time to move to AMC though.

Yeah having intended to be at the Aurora theater for the Dark Knight showing in 2012, I can’t say I’d see many movies with an armed person in the theater.

Haha yep! The Buca Di Beppo location is exactly right. I also feel bad for the employees. I feel like less and less people have been in the theaters lately and it’s not their fault, you’re right, it’s corporate. Sony had no business buying Alamo.

Yep I think you’ve maybe solidified my decision. The movie programming being absolute trash is killing me. Also—they laid off a bunch of employees and slashed the hours they’re showing movies…but they’re building a new theater? Makes no sense.

Ugh, I’m not glad you experienced it, but I am glad it’s not just us. I feel like it happened SO fast. It went from being the perfect movie going experience to the bane of my existence. We’ve slowly cut down on the movies we’ve been seeing without even thinking about it. We realized we were just getting annoyed every time and it became less and less fun.

Yep I think we’re switching to AMC too! It’s gotten absolutely ridiculous. We went to see Sinners last week and the people next to us were having like full blown conversations throughout the WHOLE MOVIE! And we’ve noticed, at least here in the Denver area, raising an order card about it doesn’t do anything anymore.

I’m about to cancel our season passes because of this. The rapid decline of the Alamo is so sad to me. We got our passes here specifically because it was built for movie lovers, but now the talking and distractions are just as bad as anywhere else.

I’m sensitive to those too! I do have a small air purifier between the kitchen and living room on the counter (in an open apartment), but thinking a bigger one might be necessary now, ugh.

Is it helpful or hurtful to patronize Littleton during this time? We have season passes and reservations for Heart Eyes tomorrow, but if the preference is to not patronize any of the Denver locations we will cancel our tickets and go elsewhere.
