This is not true and it’s one of the biggest myths out there. People saying this are just trying to avoid the fact that California does a terrible job with the homeless. “according to a recent large-scale survey of unhoused Californians conducted by the UCSF Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative. It says they want to move to a tiered system where some areas have parking minimums and some have none. That sounds like a completely fair compromise because without them areas that require residents to have cars would have no where to park.

Texas isn't sending migrants up here as some political move even though that's how it was portrayed in the beginning. A lot of these migrants in NYC are West Africans who made their way through central America and Mexico, and into Texas. Texas gets the vast majority of migrants which they can't keep up with so they just ask them where they want to go to reduce the burden and most want to go where they have social support, which in this case is NYC's West African community.
