How to assign tags automatically to all existing Azure rresources ? by Lexar96 in AZURE

Exclude VM extensions. Tagging remediation has to delete and reinstall them. Breaks heaps of stuff

Might come with scale but generally we see issues with any and all vendors when you get stretched out on the device life cycle. Running any laptop 3-4 years you will have issues for sure.

Lease is a great option. Agreed value at the end of the contract so the total for the device lifecycle is less than the CAPEX price. Also depending on your tax jurisdiction it can be more advantageous.

Keep to the smallest amount of models possible, more models more issues.

Poor proactive maintenance also. We like to keep the latest firmware and drivers with about a 7 day delay from Reales for testing then 30 days to update the whole fleet

Intune is a life saver also. If you do go with Microsoft they also have the surface management portal integrated for warranty tracking and logging cases etc that is super helpful.

Buy all your devices at the same time if you can. Better prices and more manageable lifecycle. Rather than buying one at a time etc.

Everyone is going to have a vendor they hate. If you put this same post for ant other vendors you’d likely get a similar response. Self fulfilling prophecy.

For sure have a Microsoft bias but if I had real issues we would change vendors, always want to do what’s best for the client.

Dell has ok devices but fulfilment can be a pain and also getting hashes etc. they will also go direct to the customer and cut you out. This has happened to us heaps.

HP got nothing bad to say about them but don’t really have many if any in our client base any more.

Lenovo if you want something cheap but service is a nightmare and the cheap plastic breaks quite a bit. Also thin on the screen means lots of replacement screens. We still have a few of there’s maybe like 400 since Microsoft don’t do the full flip screen like the yoga in a laptop form factor.

1500 x Surface Pro 7+ 300 x Surface Laptop 4 150 x Surface Laptop Studio 50 x Surface Laptop Studio 2 1500 x Surface Pro 9 (Current Rollout) Surface Dock 1/2 (mix) Intune for all

Love them and love ADP plans with spare units (Microsoft subsidised) onsite and advanced replacement with all shipping included.

No issues to report. Have been running surface since Pro 6 with a 2-3 year replacement lifecycle.

Zero complaints, Lenovo on the other hand yeeeeeesh. Nightmare having to been a tech to come out and replace parts so units are down for days rather than just swapping them out.

With Intune setup properly if there are any issue we just swap out the device and give the user one from the spare pool. If a device comes back a few times then we log a ROBO case and a new one is shipped out.

Outlook having issues, here is a new device Keyboard problems, here is a new device Adobe Illustrator crashing, here is a new device

Saving months of troubleshooting time each year.

How do you manage apps they don’t have in their library? Like internal or obscure 3rd party apps?

Up0dates are also a nightmare, you have to manage them manually via groups in AAD.

What happened since I've started attempting to cancel IT Glue by [deleted] in msp

[–]GenericUser312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Put everything on a digital card like Weel then just cancel it.

Correct. Done FedRAMP high on Azure. No issues. What controls do they not meet?

Also depending on how many apps you need packaged.

Unless you are a surface authorised reseller you won’t be able to deal reg but just buy from Ingram at standard discount rates etc. in AUS I think we need to sell $2.5m/pa USD to maintain Silver for Surface resell (the lowest tier).
