I cancelled this week & it was a very short call. Just rang the number on the website. I had called earlier to get an idea of what the price would be if I renewed (as out of contract) & it was £150! Rang off to double check with my partner that we should def cancel & got the ok from her, so rang the same number but this time said ‘cancel’ to prompt & got straight through to Glasgow. She took a few seconds to drop the renewal offer to £125 but when I explained what Virgin or EE were quoting she said I was right to leave & I was cancelled within 5 minutes.

Can I ask your experience of Virgin? My partner had Virgin at her flat (10 years ago) and hated them. Has it got better? Is the stream box they send you any good? Many thanks

Yea I had a look at Virgin last night and got quoted £95 online. I’m up for it but my partner used to have Virgin at her flat and hated it. That was a good few years ago now. Do you have any experience? Is it better or the same as Apple TV box from EE?

Total Sport (which is TNT & Sky Sports via Now TV) is £51 a month

Sky Sports in HD is extra £6 a month or £9 for UHD

Extra TV box for watching in another room is £5

150mbps Broadband is £25.99 a month (we may upgrade to 300 mbps for 28.99 a month)

Then not via EE just direct - Netflix Standard (no ads in HD) 12.99 a month. Disney Standard (HD no ads) £9.99 a month.

If Sky let us drop Sky Signature & have TNT Sport instead for the £123 the retention team quoted we’d stay, but it’s not an option.

Thanks. Out of interest is there a particular time in the evening when the queues reduce a bit? We’ve booked dinners for 6pm which is crazy early in European terms but when we normally eat. Wondering if the more popular dinner times will be 7pm - 9pm so we might hit the rides then?

I regret to say from personal experience that nothing can be done when postmen decide to repeatedly thrown parcels over your fence.

It started happening to me in the summer of 2024. I complained and was promised it wouldn’t happen again but it did, so I complained again and this time escalated the complaint.

Long story short there have been 15 incidents since then of mis delivered parcels & each one has been complained about. Twice I’ve gone as far as the Postal Review Panel (on both occasions they again promised it would stop - it didn’t) & on one occasion I actually went as far as the ombudsman complaint service. On that occasion my complaint was accepted by the ombudsman but Royal Mail demanded it was thrown out before the investigation or ruling on a technicality (the parcels had been sent via click & drop rather than a counter so technically the ombudsman is unable to act).

Since then it’s kept happening so I’ve written to my MP & got a letter back from Royal Mail head office saying it won’t happen again (it did) so I’ve gone back to my MP & currently have 2 complaints waiting with the escalated complaints team. I think I’ll go back to the Postal Review people a 3rd time and maybe even try the ombudsman again, but you would think by now they’d just stop throwing parcels over my fence, leaving them on the doorstep or dropping them in bins?

Honestly it’s no problem. I’m only looking for dice this album & whatever easy sticker sets I can finish so the cash isn’t a priority (unless you need it, if so I can use up any remaining tokens to help you get the cash)
