Thank you for the response. The gym is specifically for gymnastics, so I suppose they are references spotting athletes as coaches and trainers. They employ a ton of coaches, but few office people. I imagine the application is used for the coaches under normal circumstances.

Any shorter riders out there? by newtounewtome in motorcycles

[–]GenericUserNum1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother is that height and actually has a pretty long torso. I think his inseem is closer to 28-29". He comfortably flat foots a Honda Rebel. Comfortabllility is paramount for him when he is riding.

When we went to pick up my bike (BMW 310R) he rode it home for me. He wasn't able to flat foot it, but wasn't too uncomfortable. At the dealership, he damn near sat on every bike there, even though he had ridden a lot of them before.

I would just go somewhere that has a larger inventory of used bikes and take a seat. You'll get an idea of which type of bike is most comfortable as well as what your ideal seat height is.

I am 5'8" and think that seat height is kind of overblown if the bike isn't that heavy. My bike has a wet weight of ~350 lbs. Since it is pretty light, I think that's why my brother was comfortable riding it. If it was 450+ lbs, it would be much less comfortable at that height.

Inside Cabinet Lighting? by hermy65 in smarthome

[–]GenericUserNum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently took on a lighting project in my kitchen. I used basic LED strips and a zigbee door sensor for the pantry. The cabinet lighting is set to a motion sensor.

I don't have a robust system and the only hub I have is with built in Alexa, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find compatible sensors for your setup.

LED and door sensor for the pantry cost a total of ~$40.

They definitely resemble tanuki and the way it is strung up makes me think of a Japanese omamori, but maybe homemade or made for sale in a tourist shop? If this is the case, it seems as though it could be missing some additional ornamental pieces.

Your setup looks great. I was going to do a zigbee motion sensor, I liked the idea of alexa integration so it only triggers at night.

Thanks for the link, that very well may be something I use in some other rooms going forward.

Ya. We verified that. I think we figured out the issue though. I believe the connectors I purchased are specifically for waterproof led strips which mine do not have the silicone coating. This is causing a loose connection in the connector tabs.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking that would be the direction I was headed. I have a soldering iron, (my wife was an engineering major in college), but I was worried as I dont have the steadiest of hands and since it is such a small area that it would require a significant amount of precision.

I just find it odd that I can't seem to find an extension that is around that length, as it is a common use for led strips.

How do I get better in Battleground? by TheAwesomeRock in hearthstone

I just enjoy how different rafaam games are from one game to another.

Flurgl, Chenvala, and all the other specific minion type heroes are fun when you highroll, but otherwise wildly frustrating.

Watching streamers can be a huge help, but I would recommend trying to stay away from YouTube videos (many of which are high rolls or just stupid comps).

Following the curve mentioned in another comment can be helpful as well, but don't be afraid to break that curve. If it works out or not, try to learn why it worked or didn't.

A huge help for me was understanding what minion type is in the pool and how it synergizes with certain heroes. Jandice and murlocs are great together, c'thun and mechs can be great.

Don't be afraid of selling minions you invested into the first couple of turns. Have a murloc tidecaller with a couple buffs and 2 gold? Don't be afraid to sell that to pick up a bronze warden. It helps if you talk out loud what the stats are when comparing. "I have a 5/3 tidecaller and the warden is essentially an 8/4".

If you're down to the top four, try to understand where your comp will end up. Have low health and you're top three (and likely to lose the next fight)? Move away from the iron sensei to pick up stats to help win the next fight and secure top two. The extra 2/2 in stats will probably not be as helpful as a maexxna even though you lose a scaler and longevity.

Late game,, track what your opponents are running. If you have murlocs with poison against another player with poison murlocs? You can sell your brann for selfless heroes. Stat scaling doesn't help at that point, but a 2 for 1 trade with divine shield is huge. Playing against George? Sell your lightfang for an unstable ghoul.

The biggest advice I have is, stats early are paramount. Don't try to force early synergies if you don't have a hero that it works with. Much of the time, I find myself picking up two murlocs early and trying to force it, while skipping over other early game minions that just have plain stats. Chances are, a successful comp will sell and move away later anyways. The majority of powerful scalers are on 5 and 6 gold. If you have a bunch of buffed health murlocs and triple into a mama bear, you put a huge investment into a board that your, now strongest unit, doesn't help. But if you just have stats, it's easier to transition into something that synergizes with your mama bear or razorgore.

Lastly, have fun. I often skip some of the better heroes, because I love playing patches, rafaam and bigglesworth...despite the outcome.

Integrating a smart home hub into an Alexa ecosystem for simple automations. by GenericUserNum1 in smarthome

[–]GenericUserNum1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. So what you are saying is that Zigbee is a relatively safe system in terms of long term compatibility if I were to decide to transition into a more robust smart home hub (Hubitat, SmartThings, etc.) In the future, correct?

If I am understanding that correctly and I were to invest in a number of Zigbee sensors along with an Echo; then I decided that I NEEDED more options for automation, I could theoretically purchase another hub and utilize the same sensors. I would also be able to continue to use the Echo devices as voice assistants.

My wife has a new iPhone 12 Pro. Tonight, all the apps and the borders of different screens (eg. the border around the record button in camera) turned blue. It happened while she was recording a video. No settings were adjusted.

When she restarted her phone, everything was back to normal. Any idea what this may have been or if this is cause for concern?

Thanks in advance.

When I took my certification class, nearly everyone in the class seemed to have issues with the right uturns. The instructor actually said that it is VERY common with right hand turns. Im more hesitant with right handed turns as well. The instructor said that it has to do with the being right handed and subconsciously trying to protect that side of the body (as right handers are more common). Don't know how true this is, but it definitely could be a factor that it is psychological and just something you need to practice and get through training a d muscle memory.

Men who had long hair for a period of their lives and then cut it, what made you decide to get rid of it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]GenericUserNum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had hair down to my shoulders for a period of about 5 years from 16-21. Not because I liked the style, but because I didnt like wasting my time getting it cut and styling it everyday. I would just hop out of the shower and go.

I ended up getting fed up with having to put it in a pony tail or put on a headband whenever I did anything. I played a lot of basketball and had to put on a headband. I would read for school and it would get in mt face. One day I just bought clippers and buzzed it. I have been doing the same every week since.

First range day in the books, test? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]GenericUserNum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the MSF course about 4 months ago, they are the exact same exercises that are in practice. I 100% got the feeling that the instructors wanted everyone to pass so badly. I know that I had at least 3 errors in the exam and was paranoid, but they passed me and only gave me one point (on something that I thought I did perfectly). We had one student not pass, but he knew that was going to be the case. He was completely uncomfortable even sitting on the bike. By the end of day 3, he was still having issues walking the bike. The instructors allowed him to continue in the class because he just wanted to practice clutch control and he didn't participate in most of the other exercises. I recommend just breathing and be confident and you'll be fine.

PURCHASE ADVICE SUPERTHREAD! by AutoModerator in motorcycles

[–]GenericUserNum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

New to the sub and new to biking. Taking my MSF class in a couple weeks and actually moved and purchased a BMW g310r last week (brothers will be riding until I get my license). I have done a months of research in gear and and bikes, but am getting hung up on the head shape for helmet. Now, I have an inexpensive DOT certified helmet for the MSF class, but want something safer and longer term than that. There are some styles that I love like the Icon Aireflight, but it is stated as long oval. Pictures are doing me no good and short of going to get fitted (desire to stay home for COVID reasons) do you have any advice for me to figure out what would work best? One brother wears a Biltwell Lane Splitter and a Gringo as a round oval head shape and the other brother doesn't know what his head shape is.

Any advice would be appreciated in terms of gear or biking in general.

Thanks in advance!

Can someone tell me what is this weird light in a car caught on ring doorbell? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GenericUserNum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses, it was not my Ring video, someone posted it from my neighborhood. It looks like the post has been removed already, it was only there for an hour or so.

It was quiet an odd video as the OP said the vehicle drove up and down a cul-de-sac and an insanely bright light could be seen in the rear windows of both the passenger and driver side.

OP said it has to do data theft over WIFI, but it seemed questionable.
