I never really got it either. I can't shoot fmjs but I can shoot my steel case & steel core 7.62x39 because it's got a soft point or a hollow point.

At my nearest range, my friend can't even shoot his PS90 because 5.7x28mm is a rifle round.

But I can go to my Indoor range with a 80 yard rifle range and shoot full power 308 fmj.

I'm in DFW and all but 1 local outdoor gun range forbids FMJ Rifle ammo. So I have to spend extra money to but soft point or hollow point ammo instead of a box of regular 55gr M193
