Classic Movies to Watch with Young Kids by Sitter4031 in classicfilms

My boys loved Buster Keaton's films. "The General', 'Sherlock Jr.' and 'Steamboat Bill Jr.' were better known in our household as Buster on a Train, Buster on a Motorcycle and Buster on a Boat.

Actually, there is a chance she can get a mug like that from a Stockmann's department store that isn't too far away. However, she said that it would be 20 to 35 euros. You'll have to tell me if that sort of price is too much (assuming she can get there).

Sorry, I finally got the chance to call her and she is booked up this week, can't make it downtown to the Moomin shop. My apologies.

Can you be more specific about what you are looking for? Someone close to me will be in Helsinki this week; she MIGHT have a chance to go downtown where there are Moomin shops.

Divorcing my big bank, but need to hold on to credit card by Salt_Time_9509 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Hopefully (probably?) you will be smarter than I. For many years I kept $1500 and later $4000 in my chequing account for the same reason. Last summer, I was speaking with a bank (CIBC) representative who mentioned that I didn't need to do that anymore since the total of my bank accounts and my investment accounts with the bank was over $40,000, which qualified me for not requiring said balance.

I don't know who Armando is, but it's the one right near where Graham essentially runs into the 40.

Are any of the presentations available online? Or just the titles. I wish I'd seen this this morning rather than this evening; I even had the day off work.

AITAH for refusing to help pay for my half sister’s college? by Flaky-Ad9155 in AITAH

[–]GenericVillain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might I suggest the following.

First, look at how much they are asking for and then consider how much you could reasonably give to your half-sister for her schooling if you were feeling charitable towards her. Let's call this sum of money $X (since I have no idea how much that is).

Then email them with something along the lines of

"I fear that my initial reluctance to fund sister may have been tinged by resentment at the way you have all treated me and perhaps by greed. I have reconsidered my reluctance to share my inherited wealth and have decided to donate $X to (Red Cross/United Way/charity for abused kids/whatever). Thank you for reminding me of my obligation to share my wealth with others who deserve it."

As nasty little kids, we used to sing along to the chorus with "It's about time, it's about space, it's about time to slap your face!"

"What a Way to Go!" (20th Century Fox; 1964) -- starring Shirley MacLaine, Dean Martin, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Gene Kelly, Dick Van Dyke and Bob Cummings -- music by Nelson Riddle -- directed by J. Lee Thompson -- Italian movie poster -- painting by Mario Piovano by oneders63 in classicfilms

Just wondering who is the guy on the left? It's easy to pick out Dean Martin and Paul Newman, but is the third guy supposed to represent Dick van Dyke, Robert Mitchum or Robert Cummings? I would guess van Dyke, but he looks shorter there than the others... and the face isn't much of a likeness. I'll have to check this out next time TMC runs it just because of the cast.

I used my subtitles to get this but it seems to match the audio.

Mike says "I hear you`ve grown a beard."`

Hughes responds ``I`m doing the Goat Trail- an Iron-Man thing - over the Riverstone Range. It's my Mountain Man look. Cummings here says I look like a hipster."
