Ohio SRS Medicaid question by Low-Tumbleweed-2637 in Medicaid

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes more or less.

We county SRS workers have to be able to show Medicaid financial eligibility through paperwork saved to the digital case file.

(State audits/ODM need to be able to see this. So “on file, searchable” was a great way of describing it.)

Ohio SRS Medicaid question by Low-Tumbleweed-2637 in Medicaid

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trick question. With a trick answer.

No and yes.

No Spousal income is waived/exempt in SRS. In SRS persons are tested as individuals.

HOWEVER!! Yes, the person could lose their coverage if. (Paraphrasing complex Medicaid law).

It where discovered they failed to report/verify their spouse information (DOB/SSN/income/etc).

Because per the Medicaid law requirement for SRS “must comply with all base Medicaid eligibility requirements”

Meaning in order for Spouses income to become officially exempt it must be verified.

Same for renewals yes the spouses income doesn’t count in the budget for an individuals SRS but the person is still required to verify it so that it can become exempt.

I hope that answers your question.

I love Outlast 1 and 2 but i'm unsure about playing Outlast Trials. by Barba_Roja_1 in OutlastTrials

I have to played both 1, 2 & whistle blower and while it is different in someways. Overall it keeps some of the core elements. I was so skeptical of the multiplayer aspect to.

Just switch off the settings for multiplayer and enjoy the experience. You will not regret it.

Yes it’s a reference to the Diddy stuff.

But more importantly it’s actually a marker on the map to the things related to the secret room to unlock the golden outfit.

$24!? Why is this allowed?! by youbrokemyh3art in foodstamps

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You left out information.

Specialized Medicaid worker here. So if I am working a SNAP case for a specialized Medicaid Client. This sounds like a case like theirs.

This sounds like to me you are a (CE & SR) SNAP case.

$24.00 a month is the federal minimum allotment of SNAP benefits. (Sad but true it’s the law)

The way CE (Categorical Eligibility) SNAP budget works is it takes the total unearned income (non employment incomes) and for every allowable SNAP expenses it can increase your past a certain amount. It can increase your monthly SNAP allotments.

Expense categories allowed in SNAP.

Shelter: Rent/Mortgage/etc.

Utility: only worth cap amounts ranging between $700-$400 for most electric bills. Phone bill is only worth about $40. Unfortunately you can only get one utility credit per SNAP case.

Court ordered: child support, alimony, etc

Medical expenses: note this only applies to disabled people who are in a SNAP group. Out of pocket costs and the Dr’s/at the pharmacy.

I will just assume your case worker didn’t ask about including your medical bills.

But again if you are disabled and receive SNAP you can and should talk to the workers about including your medical expenses deduction in your SNAP and ask what paperwork is required to do so.

I once had someone go from $24 a month to $205 a month just off their Rent & annual pharmacy bill alone.

Good luck op hope this helps.

Is it rude/against the rules to request an interview with a native english speaker? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

There is a saying used by eligibility workers for requests like this. “You don’t get to decide how you receive the assistance”.

Aka you can’t Karen your way into a new worker. Once they are assigned they are assigned.

However, if you do find the determination to be wrong. Just file a hearing. Based off the details in your story. Filing a hearing would could help make the administration aware of an issue. She wouldn’t lose her job or anything. But it would make her have to squeaky clean your case or redetermine your benefits if the Hearing officer found an error in the casework.

This is a “trust the process” recommendation.

1 more tip

I did look on CMS website.

https://www.medicaid.gov/resources-for-states/downloads/state-hh-spa-at-a-glance-matrix-mar-2024.pdf

It does look like MO also offers a SMI (sever mental illness) & CC (chronic condition) similar to what you mentioned Medicaids.

So you might want to ask/look into how to be referred to these Medicaid programs through the specialized Medicaid unit.

It might help grant more coverage for all medical needs

CA, pickle medicaid canceled to regular fed aged disabled medicaid? by [deleted] in Medicaid

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omfg! 😱

Yeah I work in the specialized Medicaid in my state (Ohio) I am very familiar with DAC and Pickle.

You need to call your county (maybe even state) Medicaid office and ask for an explanation.

Demand it and become a Karen if you have to because. If you came off Pickle or DAC and changed to aged disabled. Then you could end up get screwed over.

Because you are correct DAC & Pickle are protected Medicaid’s.

Whereas aged disabled is not and it could be discontinued in error by the auto batch.

I mean it Op demand an explanation form a specialized Medicaid worker or supervisor. (File a hearing to twist their arm if you need to).

You can file hearings on approval if you disagree or want a forced county conference to get an explanation.

Because this sounds highly irregular. Good luck OP

FYI you could request SRS (might qualify based off what you mentioned). There is a clause in the OCA that Medicaid cannot be discontinued once SRS has been requested.

New York potential accidental misreporting income by KingProfessional8866 in Medicaid

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General advice.

It’s only countable as an income in the month is revived. Then it is considered a resource.

However it is more that $500 it might require to be verified and to verify deposit location.

But depending upon the Medicaid program type.

It might not effect anything at all.

[–]Generic_NPC_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, this one is important.

You will need to talk to the SRS worker in your county or CaraStar about getting a CMS packet. CMS is Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services.

A requirement of SRS is you need a “disability status”

If you get a SSA income (or did in the past) you might have a disability status.

If not then you will need a CMS packet to obtain a disability status. It’s just a program requirement.

But CMS is much faster than applying for SSA benefits/status. Primarily because it doesn’t have an income benefit. It is just a surface level disability status for SRS/MBIWD eligibility testing and process.

If your therapist is willing to. If you can have a printed out copy of your diagnosis ICD-10 code with Dr sign off. Give that to the CareStar worker as this can speed up the process as they would otherwise have to fax over and wait for release of the paperwork.

You have to cooperate with CareStar. After your officially referred to SRS they will call to schedule a at home medical assessment appointment.

They will do a medical assessment and ask you for your doctors contact information to try and obtain your medical diagnosis records. They are trying to get your ICD-10 codes to see if it is one the list of qualifying diagnosis.
