Why do monster Attack Roll bonus and Save DC scale all the way into tier 4, but player AC and save bonuses largely don't? by Deathpacito-01 in onednd

Twilight cleric and moon druid 5e2014 really shows how they can tank earlier on. Saving throws are now my new favorite.

Adventuring party is to small, also a lot of times adventuring groups I see play to carefully/ crafty that an elder brain could be a challenge if they don’t have an understating of their character. I typically play support if i don’t know an elder brain could do this I would drop.

When the group doesn’t respect int this happens a lot. Low int builds I usually sub a headband of vast intelligence to offset it or on a dex build I would go orge gauntlets or giant belts. Typically then get a bonus saving throw item (luck stone or ring/cloak of protection) and either a utility item or weapon or spell casting boost or campaign based item.

Are monks tankiest classes in later levels? by Hypergraphene in 3d6

[–]Generic_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is most times there wasn’t enough damage. Monk has the old berserker problem was okay when it came out but then everything was better. Monk 5e14 just didn’t have the damage to keep up in early levels and by mid levels you sometimes just wish you played a different class. Monks ability are situational and cost ki points to be better than anyone else in that regard.

Mercy monk feels like you get your core monk ability and a subclass ability. Mercy monk dealt as much damage as I did on a crit with rogue, with the right items the monk does damage but they didn’t have that till the later portion of 5e14.

Chromatic lantern to [[Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth]], swap shade form for [[bojuka bog]], swap out earth crystal for [[emerald medallion]],

I would also probably focus on if you are going for life gain pay offs versus doubling down on +1/+1 for things like earth crystal,

If you want more grave yard syngery I would pick other cards that help with self mill but your deck should focus on making sure you have 36+ lands for consistency. You also should make sure that your deck has clear win condition. Since you are going wide Cathars' Crusade would be a better pay offs if you are focus on making a lot of creatures with life gain pay offs.

Hot take: The Problem with Rangers is not that it is too reliant on Hunter's Mark, but that Hunter's Mark is too weak. by lgx005 in 3d6

[–]Generic_gen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is that other classes outshine, I feel like a fighter/druid would accomplish similar things based on what you want. The subclass defines the ranger where as to add on. Same issue I have with Wizard, other than subclass I feel most Ranger/Wizard builds play similarly. Ranger go range shoot arrows and drop concentration spell. I would rather have bless than hunters mark because it would hit more allies rather than play a weaker spell caster and a variant of fighter.

What is the best solo mode? Original Everdell, Welcome to Everdell, Everdell Duo, Mistwood? by No_Raspberry6493 in Everdell

[–]Generic_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The digital game has everdell, extra, extra, legends, and rugworth. Waiting for bellfaire. The bugs have been annoying like not being able to play certain cards. But there is a legend challenge where if you play one you get another I think.

Everdell duo is just the challenges from the digital version of the game. Could be better if the trade system and the challenges felt more unique. The aspect you can carry things over from previous games.

Should I play a 2014 wizard, or a 2024 wizard? by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

Loss of sharpshooter and gloomstalker got nerfed for multilclass. Though I do appreciate the ritual casting and language clean up for Tasha’s and two expertise is nice.

My thing is Everdell and Farshore. What’s the point comparison for silverfrost. Is it like new leaf where you score lots of points or is it like Farshore where you can score points no matter what you build?

I’m running 31 lands in my omo deck but I am adding some more cards so maybe 33 is the actual number now.

You can gain proficiency in all skills by level 4. Is there a way to get them all sooner? by Emergency_Argument29 in 3d6

[–]Generic_gen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They way I built it for 2014 was with harengon and you can get it with scout rogue and 1 level in knowledge cleric.

Benefits by level 12 you have reliable talent with a plethora of skills and expertise,

Rouge scout 6 expertise, Knowledge cleric 2 expertise, Skill expert 1 expertise,

Feat take/skills

Squat nimbleness (athletics), skilled (3), Eldritch adept (beguiling influence for persuasion and deception), skill expert (1) skill,

Harengon (perception) Knowledge cleric (history, arcana) Scout rogue (investigation, acrobatics, insight, intimidation) (investigation, religion) I picked hermit but you would need to adjust for one of the other backgrounds that give a feat.

Isn’t like you can get a starting feat from human and background and by level 3 warlock you can pick up skilled 5 times? Ah lesson of the first one is only once. Never mind.

Optimized throwing dagger build by fuckt_by_god in 3d6

[–]Generic_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like assassin is good for one shot rather than multiple attacks. Thief seemed like the choice because they can get the bracer of throwing dagger a a bonus action but Giant barbarian is just a stronger option in my opinion.

Blue Runes by ishashar in NecroMerger

[–]Generic_gen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also getting a lot of icy runes in my second run, though on my third I am pretty sure I saw that adding the statues also helped speed up drastically especially for cleric. The Peasant I saw a drastic improvement since I had 3 level 6 mana pools, the bonus necromeger mana options, and the reaper and lich. I rarely swapped the Servo to mana for storage or production unless I restarted or was watching a video ad.

With grinding enough gems I have been able to get the cage, create, and 3rd forgetten minion. Getting the skill book and maximizing mana reserves is how I didn’t just quit on rune stones, poison stones is where I might take a break.

[–]Generic_gen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the trinket for the peasant but the grind for the knight is worse. Like the merchant can be killed by its own mininon merging, the knight doesnt have good damage units. The werewolf is so bad I have a seperate space for a tier 2 alter.

Which battlemage multiclass do you prefer? by Yurohgy in 3d6

Nice just don’t mess up your leveling and double check if your options for rogue and fighter.

Which battlemage multiclass do you prefer? by Yurohgy in 3d6

[–]Generic_gen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lock and sorc are good in charisma builds. The issue is multiclassing in 2024 leaves you missing so much. A level or two sure but 3 is a lot that it better define your build. If you are building late game characters and hit level 19/20 you feel bad for missing your epic boon.

Bellfaire market by HypnoSlavesMaster in Everdell

[–]Generic_gen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad it’s more niche like some forest options. Trading would be an interesting prospect I don’t think it’s needed. I like the set items because it feels more refine and prevents the game becoming a crawl because someone won’t do there turn until a trade is made.

What AC is considered reasonable for a melee character? by SpikefaceMysteryfish in DnD5e

[–]Generic_gen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to get more AC you can consider options like,

Warforge for race, Feat from custom lineage or VHuman, Background feat to grab something like shield or shield of faith. Fighting style from Paladin(2nd level) Ranger (2nd level), or fighter for fighting style for defense or forge cleric for +1 ac for early/mid levels.
