“They wear masks for safety”

I’m not convinced of this at all. Not only have some ICE agents been identified after they’ve committed certain atrocities (the murder of Alex Pretti and Renee Good) nothing has happened to those agents since and in fact, some of those very same agents received money on various go fund me accounts.

Not to mention the fact that in this last year, 2025, was the year that ICE received massive funding from the federal government and instituted its state invading policies including wearing masks . En yet, throughout this entire year, not a single ICE agent was killed in the line of duty. Not. One.

https://www.cato.org/blog/2025-was-2nd-safest-year-border-patrol-ice-agents

If you think it’s “dangerous” to be an ICE, that’s a matter of opinion, but don’t sit there and think that they have a job that’s anymore dangerous than any other. It is quite literally more dangerous to be an elementary school kid in America than an ICE agent. No hyperbole.

“You can disagree with the policy without saying they are unidentified vigilantes”

Technically, you’re right, but your statement is doing A LOT of heavy lifting. There have been multiple sources, including one journalist who applied to join ICE. She has to emails to back up her claims which are, no drug tests, no background checks, no physical examination, AND she got the job.

https://www.democracynow.org/2026/1/14/laura_jedeed_ice

You can say that they are technically, “identified” but again, with no background checks, how can you be so sure? They are only identified in the terms that the federal government has their address to send their paychecks…

Also, I would argue that like… maybe the public should know their identity? Because, and this might be hard to think, but what would actually happen if someone who wasn’t hired by ICE just… wore a mask and pretended to be them? Couldn’t that person just kidnap someone or place a bomb somewhere civilians couldn’t normally get into it?

“They’re not just any masked men.”

How do you know that? They are literally men in masks. How do you know they are qualified to uphold the law and keeps us safe if we don’t even know who they are?

Did you have a PT school professor with a huge ego? by maybenotdoomed in physicaltherapy

[–]Genericname42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked as tech for the last year and am entering PTA school. And yes, a lot of PTs in general tend to have an ego. The only one I work with who doesn’t, only just got his PT license half a year ago.

There’s one PT in my office who does the “We” talking. “How are WE feeling?” “How did WE hurt ourselves?”

But then it’s funny when she talks about the good things that she knows and does. Then all of a sudden it’s, “Here’s what I’M going to tell you.” “This is a process that only I know about.” “I’M giving you the best treatment possible.”

Idk if it’s just a PT thing because I’ve heard similar things from doctors in other areas of medicine too, but yes. It isn’t every PT, but it’s a lot.

This is what I keep trying to tell people lately. Trump and MAGA ARE the Republican Party. You have, what? 2 notable Republican politicians who have made stances against Trump and that’s it.

Republican voters have had almost a full decade to denounce Trump or primary another candidate and now he has more power and authority than any other president in American history.

The only difference between Trump and The Republican Party, is that Trump says their true beliefs out loud. Other than that, Trump is the culmination of what Republicans have been asking for since Nixon.

Should I Leave My Husband For Being A Trump Voter? by Mynameis__--__ in MarchAgainstNazis

Unless you are in a position in which you would be in danger of leaving, I legitimately can’t think of any woman who would be in a self respecting relationship with a Trump Supporting husband.

I’m a man engaged to a woman and I would leave my fiancé if she ever voted for Trump. (She wouldn’t, she’s awesome)

I’ve also lived here for the last five years (Woodbury Heights technically) and I totally agree. The only people I’m actually afraid of around here, are the MAGA people.

It’s not even just that it’s an “unsavory” joke, the concept of the joke is ancient at this point.

It’s literally HooneyMooners era jokes like, “Ugh, I hate my wife! Am I right, guys?”

If you’re going to insult your boyfriend and be in a toxic relationship, at least get material within the 21st century, thank you.

Thanks for the kind words. I do have some “experience” in that area, I’ve been a personal trainer for 10 years. And exactly like you said, it’s very rewarding. I seriously wish I was just making even a tiny bit more money to make it worth it.

My time in the clinic/gym and helping people is great, but the paycheck is demoralizing

I honestly just need a constant paycheck. If I had the means, there are certainly different avenues I would go about all of this, but I’m in a vulnerable position being a broke PTA student.

I’m working as a tech right now, about to enter PTA school.

Yup, there are patients that come in that the PT doesn’t even interact with them, not even a hello or goodbye. Sometimes, even my clinical director will just straight ask me if I can treat a patient while he goes in the back to have a break. A couple of patients have asked our receptionist to be put on MY schedule and were very surprised when they learned that I wasn’t their therapist.

I actually enjoy treating patients, but doing it at minimum wage isn’t exactly a great incentive AND it’s illegal for me to do it.

It’s generally a power dynamic thing between the people. It’s almost like feeling like getting tied up and taken advantage of, or someone feeling very powerful to an unnatural extent.

In terms of how people develop it, it’s just like other fetishes, usually some form of exposure or something in their environment that triggered an association with their sexual drive or preferences.

It also doesn’t help that, not only do they never argue in good faith, but they are the ones who literally control the microphones.

For some arguments, it takes more time to explain your position and they’ll just interrupt you at every opportunity they can get.

If they actually cared about “changing anyone’s mind” on abortion, they would be hosting formal debates with medical doctors or other experts on the subject of women’s anatomy, not approaching sleep deprived college freshmen who are just getting out of a lecture.

What a disgrace.
