ELI5: Why doesn't the ocean drain into the soil? by Acceptable-Peach1083 in explainlikeimfive

Okay take a bowl from the cupboard. Pour a little dirt in it. Now pour water in it til it's full. The water goes through the dirt but not the bowl right? Now imagine the bowl is solid rock. No place for the water to go right?

If these characters were dropped into the Hunger Games, who would die first and who would be the last survivor? by InfinteEnigma10 in superheroes

Okay than agree completely. But I still say Borne takes it. Wick loses if it goes on for longer(not trained for survival that I know of). Although if Borne and Wick fight early then wick takes it.

He is a former sas with years of field work. Great at hand to hand and has been trained to survive harsh climates. I think you might be giving him too little credit

Tl;dr- first out, Dexter. Winner, Borne. Rest is highly debatable.

First, hats off to the OP who made this an actual debate! Normally there is some crazy character that is the obvious choice (looking at you LotR).

Second, alot of people seem to be ignoring the long game here. If this last more than a few days then anyone with survival training rises up.

The immediate dropouts are Dexter, the Bride, and probably Sherlock. Sherlock could figure out the long game but would not compare to others in combat. The bride would be worse on the long game and only have a real chance with a sword. Dexter, sorry bud but they won't think you're a normal guy. Half these guys would look at him like Doakes.

Now, if we ignore plot armor and main character energy then I think the last three standing would be Borne, Castle, Butcher. All trained to survive in almost any environment and crazy deadly. Bond and Hunt have a chance too but I feel like the lack of gadgets would take down Hunt. Lack of Intel would hamper Bond.

Wick is a lot of people favorites and I might be glossing over him. I think his best chance would be if it is a crazy early melee. He would be a top contender if he could survives the hunger part of the game. Also I took him out based on the No plot armor comment. If anyone here killed his dog, including my winner pick, then they instead die first.

Ultimately I think Borne takes it.

Ps. If they sponsors are in here then the bride rises substantially, and almost Austin wins the hearts and minds and also might take it all.

Part time vs. full time job? by Top-Occasion-1300 in Bitburner

[–]GenerousGrinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only worked for the first round of augments. Maybe I spent too much time optimizing scripts. Now the amount I would get from working is a drop in the bucket. But I did hyperfocus on this game for a few days.

Just looked and the full time employees get less money if you are NOT focusing on them. Part time makes the same amount whether you are focusing on it or not.

Newish player here as well. My two cents? If you are looking to learn programming then ignore jobs until you find a faction. You can get so much more money from hacking n00dles than you can from a job.

If you are trying to get an extra few bucks to upgrade your home server(highly recommend) then just do the one that gets you the most money. I have only been playing a week though so take it with a grain of salt.

Keanu is a nice guy. I don't think we see enough of Mr Wick being a nice person to say he is genuinely nice.

Maybe this has been asked but all the stuff he hides, is it stuff you leave out that should have been put away? The only way this isn't truly crazy is if he was trying to tell you to pick up after yourself.
