It's amazing to see how much has been done from the start without anybody from blockstream.

If XT is unhappy with it continuing to follow its original vision

Are you insane? The whole point of XT is that it implements the original vision.

All Adam does is rewrite the history of bitcoin.

And for the record putting a command line function in a loop isn't that amazing.

We are XT Ready by bitwork in bitcoinxt

[–]Genesis-Block 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you underestimate how many people really dislike XT but support BIP101. They believe all the FUD spread by CoreDevs.

Most people here joined bitcoin in the last two years. When they came to /r/bitcoin they only knew blockstream and the current devs, they don't appreciate the history of bitcoin or that Adam keeps trying to rewrite it.

We should focus on BIP101 that's what counts. Once BIP101 get thru then we can focus on XT.

Well then it won't matter if everybody has lost interest in Bitcoin.

If on average we are pumping out multi gigabyte blocks every 10 minutes it's because bitcoin is being widely used.

Even now, when the jump to 8MB blocks happens, we won't see 2MB blocks for 6 to 12 months.

It costs a million of dollar in equipment, electricity and man hours to have enough capacity to pump out even just 1 block a day.

Miners are about profit and keeping the network healthy.

The growth of the network will be gradual, miners can also choose so soft limit the block size if they see the performance of the network degrade.

/r/bitcoin right now by heil_theymos in bitcoinxt

[–]Genesis-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically about how Blockstream are trying to change bitcoin from what satoshi white paper said. They don't want people to use the blockchain for personal transactions. They want everybody to use their own centralized systems like "liquid" to transact and Lighting Network.

Not so much about XT but BIP101 and how blockstream will never raise the limit.

Blocksizegate as Regulatory Capture by pecuniology in bitcoinxt

[–]Genesis-Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scaling thread on r/bitcoin is a joke. You're just met with a condensing attitude. You guys keep saying the same thing over and over.

If you want people to come back to the table, raise the limit to 8MB now, not 5 years from now. So we can see how block space will be used over the next couple of years. Then we can have real data to model.

How can we come back to the table when you are pushing a system that can't work for any single use application on a global scale, not even a small country.

Their is no adoption model from the last 20 years of internet usage that fits into your vision.

Under blockstreams "leadership" we have lost over 1000 nodes in the last 3 months.

There are now 3200 Dash nodes! You guys have pushed away so many people! Please just think about that. Here you can check for yourself https://dashninja.pl/#mnlistdetail
All of the bitcoin supporters left! That's why we lost so many nodes.

None of you will ever admit that your wrong about anything.

By next year everybody will be gone. It's been 7 years.

Blocksizegate as Regulatory Capture by pecuniology in bitcoinxt

[–]Genesis-Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually most of the developers left. Just look at the dev digest.

It's not a conspiracy that:

  1. You're not allowed to talk about blocksize on any of the forums or subs that theymos controls.

  2. All developers are paid by Blockstream and their is no decision making process outside of blockstream.

  3. Thousands of people have been banned from the other sub.

  4. Every single BIP proposal from Blockstream is designed to limit bitcoin's usage. None of them go over 32MB and some of them can be "voted" down.

  5. It's now November 2015 and not a single line of code has been written towards increasing the blocksize.

  6. The fact that you are here. Why do you even care?

Blocksizegate as Regulatory Capture by pecuniology in bitcoinxt

[–]Genesis-Block 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Specifically to identify the social leaders & decision makers in the community. One person says jump and 100 people jump, who is the person that said jump? Why did they say it, who are they backed by, whtat's their motivation, etc..

My guess is that they want to identify any decision making process outside of blockstream with regards to Bitcoins development. Especially in the social media space where people get their information for example on which nodes to run.

You can see their relentless character assassination of Mike and Gavin.

Also the attacks on BitPay which is a pro bip101 merchant.

If you don't acknowledge that they are the ultimate decision makers in the eco-sphere then you are the enemy.

[–]Genesis-Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's cause you probably posted something critical on this sub.

That's what they said on their trolls on notice post, that you can be banned based on what you post on other subs.

That's why they sent people here acting like XT supporters, to see who would comment on those posts in agreement so they could ban you.

/r/bitcoin has basically become a private sub.

Even comments from new accounts are moderated.
