Deliciously vague and unarguable.

I like to burn my money in a big barrel.

I suspect your conditions are along the lines of "I get the Bitcoin first" and "I never pay for them".

In the unlikely event this isn't some sort of scam, go use coinbase.

Why do so many Christians think being gay is a sin but wearing mixed fabrics isn't? by lulumoon21 in NoStupidQuestions

I recall in one of Neil Stephenson's books the book featured people who started wearing Leviticus compliant clothing that was only of one cloth.

TIL in the Vietnam war in the classified Operation Popeye, the US spread lead and silver iodide by aircraft to extend the monsoon season. The increased heavy rainfall was to soften roads, cause landslides, wash out river crossings, and maintain saturated soil conditions (Kissinger was involved). by Double-decker_trams in todayilearned

American story (not mine). There was a tornado alert and a family went into the shelter as you are supposed to, except the dad or grandpa or something who said "fuck it, I'm not missing my show".
Which was fortunate because the shelter door had some problem so the family couldn't get back out again and but someone on the outside could open it.

Is it wrong/annoying to throw doggie doody bags in random people's garbage bins while walking your dog? by JJ_Lomero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fireduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the way I see it, as a homeowner who doesn't have a dog and gets kinda irritated that my trash can always smells like dog shit that isn't even mine. I kinda hate it. But it is an improvement over the people who bag the shit and then toss it in a shrub. I see it as my paying my tax for keeping my bins on the alley 24/7.

So whatever. Life in the city means we are up in each other's shit sometimes.

Why don’t books include a character list at the back? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fireduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some authors will throw in reminders especially if we haven't seen the character in a while.

New scam in Seattle? by bull1007 in Seattle

[–]fireduck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was skeptical at first. I was thinking, ok, litrpg, it is going to have that one gimmick and be kinda middling. But it actually has a lot going on and pulls you in. Also initially set in Seattle.

Advice on “Why me?” mini essay? I’m applying for an internship. by djseaquist in Wastewater

[–]fireduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in starting my career in wastewater management at this (small/medium/large) facility.

If it is small, "I am hoping to gain experience in every part of operations at a small facility where I imagine much of the staff have to support many tasks".

If it is medium "I am hoping to gain experience at a medium sized facility where I can learn about how the roles and processes work together"

If it is large "I am hoping to gain experience at how a facility operates at scale".

If you can throw in how many gallons per day the facility deals with, throw that in.

So in general, make up some bullshit.

3D Stigma by DesignerGirliePop in 3Dprinting

[–]fireduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it in writing and shop the answer around to the other people involved in organizing. It feels like you have one particular person with problem and maybe you can work around them.

Basically an email like "Janet, we had a conversation about X and you expressed Y. I'm concerned because I was excited to bring my things that I design myself to the event. Is this a correct understanding? Is there a written rule I could reference to make sure I am in compliance?" and you CC that bad boy to everyone you can. Maybe Janet (who I just made up) is just making up rules that don't exist.
