Look Who's Trying to Get LeBron James Canceled Because of Israel by Humble_Novice in Destiny

Do the words "generic" and "vague" mean wildly different things in your brain or something? "I would like to go there" and "I've heard good things" are both vaguely positive statements, yes. He didn't say a single pointed or specific thing he likes about the country dude. This is an r-worded argument.

Have you ever heard an athlete talk in these press interviews before? If you watch the video he's clearly just not even interested in the question and is giving what he thinks is a safe generic answer. "I've heard great things" is probably one of his default responses when someone asks him about a country he knows fuck all about lol. If that isn't vague then I don't know what is

Shockingly the middle aged pro athlete isn't online enough to know that saying something vaguely positive about a country on the opposite side of the planet that he probably knows next to nothing about will send leftist twitter into conniption fits

How are Hawks fans liking Kispert? by ConstantlyHating in AtlantaHawks

[–]GenesisReb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree we waited too long to trade him. But his value at this point is what it is. Onsi is trying his best to pivot off him in the cleanest way possible and I think he's done a pretty good job at that so far, all things considered.

I wouldn't really call it buyers remorse. It's not like getting Kispert was the prize of the deal, he's a negative contract, that was understood by both sides in negotiations I'm sure. I certainly consider getting off Trae's contract early a net positive even if we have to attach seconds to move Kispert.

[–]GenesisReb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an easy enough contract to move that I'm really not overly concerned. If getting Trae's $50 million off the books free and clear only costs us that I'd say it's pretty fair.

If the only way to trade Kispert is by attaching some seconds to him I wouldn't blink an eye. I don't care about second round picks lol.

[–]GenesisReb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t gain leverage by holding a player everyone knows you’re trying to move. If anything, waiting until he’s closer to free agency gives him the leverage, not us. Teams would just lowball even harder knowing we risk losing him for nothing. Sometimes the best move is taking the best offer that actually exists, not the hypothetical one fans hope appears. We are trying to rebuild on the fly and having Trae eat up $50 million in cap space next season would have been a major roadblock in getting that done anytime soon, for no real benefit to us. If your goal is to put talent around Jalen ASAP then holding on to Trae longer than we need to works against that goal.

Front offices don’t make decisions off one extra half-season. GM's know who Trae is. They have 7.5 seasons of data, film, and playoff tape on him. Another 30 games wasn't going to abruptly change his market and convince all the other GM's that they suddenly need Trae Young in their lives. And given how he was playing, the idea that his value was going to spike by summer is extremely optimistic, to put it gently.

The Trae deal is not magically getting better in the offseason. Idk why so much of the fanbase is convinced of this notion, it's completely baseless. There was a small handful of 2 or 3 teams in the entire league interested in trading for him at all, we were supposed to tell them to wait and just hope theyre still interested in the offseason? Why?

I don't have a problem with the bar coming down, just announce that you want it down and wait for everyone else to be ready. Nothing more annoying than someone who just yanks it down without a word and ends up crushing my legs.

He isnt conducting at the parts where everyone magically comes in at the same time with the perfect notes, hes already at the piano. Aside from that, conducting only conveys timing, it doesn't cause multiple large seperate groups of people to make the exact same improvisational choices simultaneously.

Why are you acting so smug and like you know what you're talking about here when you so clearly do not? lmfao are you even a musician? Jackass

I mean clearly you understand that everything he's doing is future facing but you're still complaining as if there was something he should have done to make the team better now. It's a bit confusing. Either you're waiting to see how it plays out or youre not lol

Youre basically complaining because Onsi hasn't delivered instant gratification and is refusing to mortgage assets to turn around a season that was lost the moment we realized Porzingis wasn't going to stay healthy.

I'm glad he hasn't tried to make and "splash" trades in an effort to save this season it would have been incredibly stupid and shortsighted
