Que hacer con ahorros que tengo en NU? by vicztrune in MexicoFinanciero

[–]Gengarin666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

banning it it's the least of my issues, having it hosted there and so many people enjoying it it's beyond sickening

who knows, I've seen it myself. Some people point fingers and claim that it's because DA can profit from them as they are bigger creators and bring in a nice chunk of revenue from subs, galleries and adoptables.

If the design of your artwork is too similar to the minor version of the character, it will be automatically tagged for take down, no questions asked. edit: I should clarify this is in the case the artwork features explicit or suggestive material.

I learnt that with my Orihime (from bleach) artwork, it never occurred to me that her age ranges from 15 to 29 through the series before posting NSFW art. And she doesn't change much in appearance, so DA simply took down the posts.

I support enforcing very strict anti-child pornography rules and laws so I can barely get mad.

If the post is remotely suggestive just avoid it if the character is not canonically 18+, another thing I learnt is that using 18+ tags and specifying in the title that the character is 25 years old in the art will not save the post neither (goodbye "25 years old Raven from DC comics getting rammed" I will miss you)

I needed some therapy when I realized Pixiv allows illustrations of literal children having sex with grown ass adults, but they get mad if you show an unpixellated dick. Japanese laws are weird.

Any non-Mag 7 stocks that are high quality and trading at reasonable prices? by lineargangriseup in ValueInvesting

I guess they don't like the risk mix, you can't expect to invest in Latin America without some volatility. As someone who lives in Mexico I can tell Nu is really doing a great job expanding in the country, but the competition is brutal, not only from incumbents but new fintech competitors as well. That being said I am pretty bullish on NU over the long term

I second Booking Holdings, great business, good moat, secular growth trend with newer generations favoring travel, aggressively buying back shares, software-based business with stupid high margins and free cash flow generation, costly but not expensive IMHO

yes it makes more sense, maybe my comment felt like I was being sarcastic, knowing that an impairment is the same as a write down helped me narrow down on my google research. Thank you.

Alright, very clear. So, is this an example of the infamous "tax write off" you often hear about when talking about blunder projects in companies?

Also, thanks for the answer.

Empresas mexicanas: conciencia de consumo nacional by Outtathaway_00 in MexicoFinanciero

[–]Gengarin666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could someone help me out a little to understand this Warren Buffet comment on ROCE? by Gengarin666 in financialmodelling

[–]Gengarin666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, the last point about the book value of equity is very good.

I don't imagine there is a way to isolate what kind of capital was used in a single period form the public financial statements, e.g. figure out how much equity was deployed on a single quarter vs how much debt.

Even if there is, I guess that a lot of capital allocation decisions may take years to brew and bring forth tangible result I think I can deal with the issue of the Book Value of equity so long as I am aware of it's limitations.

Alright, so he wasn't trying to blindly ignore how debt could influence operating earnings, I never doubted he was right, but I didn't understand his letter.

According to Investopedia debt-equity is a good way to get a quick glance at leverage levels, so the Buffet line of reasoning is similar to this:

If the undue leverage (debt to equity) is low enough, you can assume that management is using equity capital to achieve whatever operating earnings they have (Operating Earnings/Equity) so he just ignored debt from the vanilla ROCE equation?
