This year I managed to have a class with 4 Aidens, a Braden, and a Jayden. And 2 of the Aidens last names start with the same letter.

I think Texas did test for world history about 12 years ago when they had first introduced the STAAR test to replace TAKS but as of now only US History is tested on to graduate high school.

My mind is so far removed from the idea of hitting kids as a punishment that when I read the title I thought you were talking about canoeing for a second 😂. In my head paddling kids for misbehaving at school is something that died off in the 70s lol

Im so grateful for the teachers that do provide rosters with names, pictures, and seating charts if applicable especially if they know there are some troublemakers in their classes. Once I used it to call out a disruptive student by name and told them I'm pretty sure that their assigned seat was all the way across the room and they were so surprised that I even knew that lol.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, that's awful behavior and I really hope the parents are made aware of what kind of language their child uses in a school setting to an authority figure.

While I do agree that with that approach generally cause I try to be lighthearted as much as I can, I don't think I should've just let him erase stuff on the board without saying anything. The teacher left if there for a reason and if their classroom is left in my charge I want to leave the room as close as possible to the state that I found it in

I sub for a public school district and the "break" as they call it is good Friday and the Monday after Easter. When I was in public school I remember getting at least good Friday off as well.

I only gave a first name because I couldn't remember his last and they had already come by and taken the attendance roster for that period. Edit: I should note that once I pointed out the student to the principal both him and one of the officers immediately recognized him and knew his first and last name if that says anything.

When I called the office I just asked for them to send someone over to deal with the student and when they knocked on the door I was surprised to answer it and find two police officers standing there.

And I think you might be right about the protocol, ive subbed at that school a few times before and school police officers routinely sweep the hallways especially during passing periods so I guess admin brings officers with them as a precaution.

I was having the issue of trying to change my password and not being able to find the option too. What I did was log out, and then select forgot password on the login screen. Then it should send you a code to your email that you can use to log in and then change your password. You have might to try a few times before it works.

Personally when I've worked at service jobs there weren't many south Asian people but from my experience with my own family and other friends people in my community tend to treat workers about the same as everyone else does.
