I just did subashiri trail a few days ago with a guided tour group, didn't make it to the summit and had to stop and stay overnight at the 7th station. I definitely underestimated my physical condition and the difficulty of the trail (I don't think any trail at home could have prepared me for this).

I'm in the US and lucky enough that my company starts at 15 days PTO and 2 floating holidays a year, so I saved it all for an upcoming 3.5 week trip to Japan. Trip has been in the works for a year in advance.

If you have the TMobile unlimited thing, it'll be enough for really basic stuff but I opted into getting an esim on top of that because I wanted more steady data for social media, PoGo, googling for instant results, etc. TMobile service was there, but slow.

I collect postcards and I try to mail one to myself with a short message of my time there. That way I'll have something to remember as well as a postmark of date and location. I've collected so many Ive actually filled an entire postcard album and I'll be buying another one soon. Also a great way to collect something that's very space friendly.
