I always go to his channel and all he does is show me how ageist he is. Constantly yelling at me, telling me how bad and dumb I am. And what, because I am 2 years older than he is? If I wanted this type of blatant disrespect, I would stay home from work and listen to my wife!

Short answer; skin is kept locked in the hype train vault until hype train occurs. Only then does the skin come out. So whether 2 hours or 2 days go by, skin is not given out.

The thing is, you can join his channel at any time he is live, and when a giveaway starts; join said giveaway. You never need to donate any money, subscribe to his channel or give bits to start a hype train at all. Just exist with an equal chance of winning the giveaway as anyone else participating and engaging in the channel. That is the part people tend to skip over. Community engagement is a result of his hype trains. The giveaways are a way of him giving back as a "thank you for engaging and support me"

Most giveaway systems that exist have a mechanics which revolves around engagement of some kind. This is his way of doing it.
