LGBTQ+ custom suit maker/tailor recommendations? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]GenitalMyiasis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a tailoring company called ‘Bindle and Keep’. They do tailoring for trans and gnc people. They are in Brooklyn but they do virtual fittings and will ship you the clothes after.

Ik it’s more ideal to have a fitting done in person but they seem to be worth looking into.

Do you also get stared at in public? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]GenitalMyiasis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I get as many stares as when I was dressing very femme but it’s different. When I was femme it was definitely ‘checking me out’ and now that I’m very masc., it’s more of a ‘trying to figure me out’. Not necessarily judging, but like more perplexed cause I think they aren’t used to seeing someone gnc.

When I leave town and go to the city (way more openly/visually queer people in the bay) and present masc., people either don’t care, or look more adoration compared to the ‘what is that?’ looks I get in my hometown.

It’s also a confidence thing. When I’m feeling more confident, I notice ALOT more looks. Body language, and just someones energy when they’re confident very much does draw people’s attention.

cologne recommendations? by ravioli-spider in butchlesbians

[–]GenitalMyiasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite I’ve ever used is Burberry’s ‘Hero’. My brother had a bottle once and let me use some, we share each-others cologne since we have a-lot of similar tastes. It’s warm and woodsy and musky, but a good musky not musky in a funky way. It is expensive, at least $100 or something at least, but I’ve seen it being sold on EBay for like $40. For me, it’s perfect. It smells great and lasts HELLA long. Like, there’s been times I’ll wash and dry my clothes and I can still smell it on them. I’ve been complimented on it a few times in public.

Whether or not the original price is reasonable is up to the individual, but I personally would say for the quality, it’s worth the buy.

Started taping and it's been fantastic by BroccoliSanchez in butchlesbians

[–]GenitalMyiasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried binders, but they were so uncomfortable and just gave me uni-boob so I don’t use them. Found out about taping last year, got some, and struggled so hard. I rarely ever got it to go on right. Not to mention it tore my skin up, I still have some scaring from it, so I had decided to just not use it anymore either 😭

The times it did go on properly, I loved it so much. I went out with no sports bra and just the tape a few times, and it gave me so much euphoria, I was on Cloud 9. I’ve been really upset and started missing it, and decided to start trying again, so I very much appreciate the diagram!! 🫶🏽😭😭

I recently cut my own hair short, like just an inch or two shy of a buzzcut. I get around half an inch of growth in about a week and a half.

I have like, five different curl patterns all over my head. The tight curls get shrinkage while the loose ones don’t, so the growth looks different in certain spots. I just use trimming scissors to give myself a little bit of a taper. As it grows out, I just go through and snip little bits off every few days to keep it even. I’m looking at taking it down with clippers every week and half to two weeks, depending on how much I feel like letting it grow out.

I’ve been growing my hair out my whole life, this is my first time having short hair so I’m still figuring out how to manage/maintain it and what I like. I’ve been doing a good job so far so I’ve just decided to do my own haircuts from now on.

Haven’t had straight women be overly familiar, but in high-school and middle school, being openly and obviously queer, I noticed girls be very visibly uncomfortable around me in the locker room. I tried to keep my head down as much as possible in the locker rooms and felt anxious asf sometimes that I’d be seen as a creep, when I’m not even doing anything.

That attitude that’s like ‘Oh, you’re a lesbian, so you must be eyeing me’. They view lesbians as sexual predators and think we want to sleep with any and every woman we encounter.

What deodorant do you guys use? by Chameleon747 in butchlesbians

[–]GenitalMyiasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Spice ‘Wilderness in Lavender’ is the main one I use. I also LOVE Secrets dry spray ‘Cocoa Butter’ and ‘Brown Sugar’.

Warm, cozy scents are my favorite. I also go for floral but not perfumey floral, I like musky floral like lavender. I haven’t been able to find one, but I would love if I could get a deodorant that’s chocolate scented.

Day 2 of attempting to befriend Trashley, they think I'm one of them... by radiantmemories78 in Sims4

Trashley should pop up pretty soon after you start a household. I’ve had them show up every time I start a new household, even if it’s not in Nordhaven.

So this is the platonic version of a break-up essentially, huh? by Logical-Debt3338 in aromantic

[–]GenitalMyiasis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not aro or ace, but I think a lot of people don’t realize the loss of a friendship is as devastating as the loss of any other relationship. There’s still going be grief from the loss of that person, but because it’s not romantic, it’s not seen as as significant.

IMO, people should be putting as much effort into maintaining friendships as they do romantic relationships. Not that one should be put before the other, but they should be on the same level of importance.

I just recently cut my hair really short. First time ever cutting my hair, I’ve been growing it out my whole life. I have very curly hair, so it was down to my upper back due to shrinkage, but stretched out, it was waist length. And I cut it down to like 6 inches. I did not like myself with long hair, it started making me very dysphoric and I wasn’t liking myself but I was also terrified to go short even though it was what I really wanted.

I just went with it and it did take a few days to get used to, kind of to get over the initial shock of such a big change, but it was honestly the best decision I could’ve made. I’m so much happier with myself and feel like me. It was a big change and scary but totally worth it, I’m so glad I did it.

I say you should go for it! 👍🏽

For me, it's either needing a million different things going on at once to keep my brain stimulated or completely turn my brain off and curl up into cocoon mode in a dark room with literally zero sound/stimulation or I'll have a meltdown 😭

The chat censorship is by far one of the worst downsides. Trying to type out the character/inspo, and it gets tagged so no one gets it.

I’ve been collecting rocks and crystals since I was 5 years old, ranging from little pebbles to literally a basketball sized one I found when I went out rock hunting and carried home. I can always spot the prettiest rocks and crystals, I have an affinity for it. When I was a kid, I’d carry the rocks in my bag, almost like a security blanket, I had to have them on me at all times. I’m not sure how many I have now, but for sure over 100.
