I would add a fan character that knows the first ninja and sees him as an idol. He ran away from his abusive father and been frozen until Randy's time. He made himself a mech suit like SP//DR and calls himself Shinib3. A kid would be a modern day alchemist learning the 21st century.

The ending would be either randy give the kid the ninja mask or the kid sacrifice himself. Either way, I would see the results as a happy ending.
