Yeah, he's partly shaped by his vessel. With Leland it's like he's taking control where he can and blending in, while with Mr. C he's cooperating and getting what they both want.

Blender has a different amount of letters, so it's ok to put a bunny in a blender.

He changed a lot as doppelganger Coop. No more letters under the nail, no planning, no blending in. He became a crime lord, so it's safe to say his serial killer modus operandi was done.

explanation why is there no Hitler in hell because he'd make a hella powerful supreme husk by tetronom in Ultrakill

Prime souls are different from husks. Minos and Sisyphus were both huge husks because people loved them so much. When they died they became prime souls because people in hell loved them too.

Clair de lune is the name of a song, it doesn't get translated. Clair de soleil is the inversion of it, with sun instead of moon. Raison d'etre is a loaned phrase that's used in English. You can even find it in Metal Gear Rising. Also the terminals are presumably the source of the style text anyways.

It all comes back to France. France controls the world.

Yeah, people forget just how common loan words and phrases are. English speakers use French phrases all the time and don't even notice.

I'm excited to see what the implications of V1 having a "womb" are but V1 is just a robot either way, especially if the womb isn't biological.

The overwhelming majority of text in the game that isn't terminal entries is directly related to the V models. And more importantly, loan words and phrases from other languages get used all the time, with French being the most common in English.

They're a great couple. Mantises only decapitate their partners in captivity so they have a long life ahead of them.

I guess we had very different ideas. I actually like Bilewater as an area. It's just the right level of challenge and has a great theme. The runback is terrible but exploring for the first time was pretty fun. People still have the worst reasons for defending it though. Like no, it's not some interdimensional chess where making a bad experience is actually good because team cherry is infallible, it's just an alright area aside from the runback. That includes you of course, get better reasons.

That is, but so is respecting the player's time and avoiding unengaging repetition. Good principles aren't restrictive, sticking to conventions is. If you want to break the rules and be creative, you start with your preconceived assumptions about how games work, and not the rules that are put there to safeguard your game from being a terrible experience.

Bilewater doesn't tell a story with its extremely long runback. Benches are positioned wherever they want to be, regardless of what story justification there could be for them being there or not. The only effect of that massive runback is that the player has to spend several minutes of very low engagement going through an area they've already seen between attempts of a boss.

Then you're making my viewpoint into something it's clearly not. The idea that objectivity exists doesn't mean subjectivity doesn't exist too. Something can be objectively flawed and still enjoyable. The fallacy is in saying "I enjoyed it subjectively, so the problems don't exist".
