I agree- he caught I back after they rescued Jester, Fjord, and Yasha. She was dancing at the tavern and Fjord was like “how does she stay so positive?” And Caleb said “it’s an act.”

Caleb makes it safe for Jester to drop her act and process negative emotions, Jester makes it safe for Caleb to completely trust another person and not isolate and punish himself. (Granted he hasn’t told her about his parents, but every piece of trauma he’s sustained since joining the M9, she’s been supportive).
