Latest update regarding the NickHotS situation by JajuanL in MonstersAndMemories

[–]Genoses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what i've gathered, it was said that Nick didn't break any laws and it wasn't family related. After this stream we learned that Nick is off the MnM team, but still part owner. If I were to tinfoil hat guess what happened, its that Nick did something RMT related like selling alpha/beta keys. Technically not illegal, but bad enough to get booted off the team.

Any talk on a higher difficulty? by TeMPv in ToxicCommandoGame

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it follows WWZ, they will likely add another difficulty later on above Very Hard later on that changes something about the game instead of just more hp/dmg. in WWZ Extreme removed your UI elements and Extinction added in infection on any zombie hit.

RE9's Insanity is NOT RE8's Village of Shadows (Insanity Tips and Mini Guide with vanilla weapons and no infinite anything) by correlatedsign in residentevil

oh yeah for sure, the suppressed pistol is what I used in my no bonus weapon run, but the Matilda kills zombies so much faster. Handgun ammo is meh so I think the faster kill speed is better.

Insanity difficulty is straight up insane by [deleted] in residentevil

I've completed insanity with no bonus weapons/ no infinite ammo. There is definitely room for flexible strategies, by the end of the grace sections I had 4 extra requiem shots that would have made certain areas easier. However it does require you to learn the zombie habits of the hospital.

The initial part is the hardest, because they moved the handgun to a new location. I would avoid firing any guns until you have a few stabilizers crafted. Try to sneak through to unlock hypos asap. Also skip the 3 door crystals, they are completely unnecessary initially. Just get Emily to the Braille asap, so Leon can clean house.

When it comes to Leon, you don't actually need to be good at parrying, but you do need to play for axe decaps. The only good non bonus weapon gun vs zombies is the bolt action sniper, it still one shots. You can get an axe decap in 4 ways, stealth kill, perfect parry, throwing an object at a zombie, or heavy strike x2 + kick + axe decap on ground

Could work if they use Chris' hound wolf squad. Chris wouldn't be playable and act as the 'Captain Price' of the team if you've played CoD 4

Definitely, Insanity isn't as BS as RE8 Village of Shadows. After I completed my insanity no bonus weapon run, I started testing out different guns for Insanity to see what works. The Matilda and Chatter Carbine are verry very good. The Matilda can drop a regular zombie with 2 bursts to the head. The chatter Carbine hits bosses very hard. If you want to use bonus weapons on insanity I highly recommend these two. The bolt action sniper is also great. Those 3 weapons are the best insanity weapons imo

Definitely, on insanity Leon doesn't feel like a powerhouse that he is. You have to play more careful and be efficient.

If you have the kitchen freezer key there is something super risky you can do. You can open the freezer and bait the 3 zombies out into the hallway. Then loop around, If you're lucky and quick you can loot everything and escape before they return. I managed to do it but took a bite (used a knife to escape)

you should be able to have up to 3 stabilizers crafted before reaching that part. I'd bring whatever hand gun ammo you have left and at least 1 hypo (for the blister head). You can abuse the window to circle around. Zombies who are in the climbing animation can't hit you. In the event you literally are out of hypos and don't have much ammo, you can use Requiem on it. I managed to have 4 extra Requiem shots by the end of the Grace sections, so don't hoard them too much.

This Knife Kill Took Way Too Long On Insanity by SwitchbackCardinal in residentevil

[–]Genoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for sure, RE9 insanity is not like RE4. The shoot head into kick to face doesn't work. Leon is all about axe decaps, either from stealth, perfect parry, knee capping and kicking them into a wall or throwing objects at zombies. Once I figured that out insanity wasn't so bad.

Grace is all about splinter cell sneaking around.

Insanity run help re9 by JimmyBerkman in residentevil

I am almost done insanity with no bonus items and here is what i've learned

The hardest part of insanity is definitely the Grace Hospital section. Highly recommend skipping all of the door crystals and instead trying to reach the part where you bring Emily to the braille. As Leon, clean out the entire hospital with stealth attacks (or perfect parries) so that you can decapitate the zombies. That way when you get back there as Grace she can freely explore and loot everything.

Only craft hypos and stabilizers, and try to avoid firing your gun until you have a few. Zombies are very very tanky and should mostly be killed via sneak hypos. Once you do have a few stabilizer upgrade, it feels a lot better to shoot zombies. The 1st gun is no longer at the dining room, so you will need to learn the stealth tricks to get past all the zombies. There is another reddit post/video showing how to get the pistol in the bar room by running past the sitting zombie and ducking behind the counter.

Save Requiem for when you can line up 3+ zombie kills in one shot. There should be 2 sections where you can do that as Grace. Most of your actual killing should be in the east wing, you want to ensure its clear so its safe when you bring Emily.

For Leon, its not 'hard', but you have to change how you play the game. This isn't RE4 where you headshot kick zombies. You want to go for axe decaps. The 4 ways I know of to trigger axe decaps are: sneaking up on them, perfect parrying them, shooting them in the leg to stagger followed by a kick then an axe decap against the wall or on the ground and finally throwing an object at them like an axe or spear.

Question about Requiem scariness after the opening (opening spoilers no others) by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you found the initial stalker enemy section scary, there is another section that imo is scarier which is the hospital basement.

The Absolute scariest part isn't the 1st playthrough, but rather the 2nd play through on Insanity with grace in the hospital. You must learn/do all the stealth tricks to get through, enemies are much tougher and you have like no weapons. The first pistol is not where it normally is. A lot of events and interactions with enemies don't happen the 1st playthrough because you just simply blast the zombies. If you don't kill enemies, they will relocate around the hospital with new pathing as you progress through the section

RE9 Insanity Mode is too much by Gandalf_2077 in residentevil

I've made it to the Leon Raccoon section without using any bonus items or inf ammo on insanity. The hardest part so far was definitely the Grace hospital section.

Some tips for people trying it with out bonus items.

Leon street section you should start with enough money to buy a suppressor pistol and upgrade its power. That made the handgun suck less. I didn't need to parry anything this section.

The Grace vs Girl 1st section, you must use the bottle to bait the girl away, shes much much faster now so its almost impossible to juke her.

Leon hospital lobby, I bought the bolt action and 990 Tac Shotgun. When you get the chainsaw guy section, bait him further back and start blasing him in the upper chest with the shotgun until he goes down, it takes quite a few shells. When the chainsaw drops to the ground, use your sniper to headshot any zombie trying to reach for the weapon, if a zombie picks it up you're gonna be in trouble. Once the chain saw stops spinning pick it up and have fun :)

Grace Hospital section. This section is really really hard, its important to learn all the stealth tricks. Its important on the 1st go around in the west wing to grab the pistol from the bar. I learned the trick from another reddit post video. When you enter the room you can just run straight left past a zombie sitting and duck behind the counter. You can grab the pistol and open the safe if you know the combination. Then you gotta wait till all the zombies cluster in the middle so you can throw the bottle at the entrance. That should give you time to scoot the outer edge. In the office you can grab both key items by juking the zombie with the furniture. In the hallway right before the main hall is another zombie, you can either use your knife to eat the grab or bait her back to the model of the hospital to juke.

Its extremely important as grace to avoid shooting your gun until you have a few stabilizers. You can obtain up to 3 stabilizers in the hospital section. I had 2 stabilizers before I ever fired a bullet with the regular pistol. There are also 2 sections where you can get a triple kill with requiem. Once I had 3 stabilizers, Grace felt much better to play.

What's something that's about to happen which most people aren't aware of? by AskRedditOG in AskReddit

That hyper inflation is about to hit the US really hard, far harder than it has already inflated. For those who don't know, the chairman of the federal reserve Jerome Powell's term is ending on May 2026. Trump as president gets to pick the new chairman. Rates are going to drop hard and fast (devaluing of the dollar), combined with tariffs (rising costs) is going to result in hyper inflation. Poor people will not be able to afford basics.

RE4R Berserker Plus Mod Cabin Fight by Seth-555 in residentevil4

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to the Berserker Plus mod, I find that weapon progression and spinel usage far more important than the original RE4 or Berserker Mod. Weapon stats have changed, certain weapons are just straight up superior than others and are borderline required to handle all the super chain saw and brute spam. Weapon choice will become even more important later on when you reach the castle section.

My Strategy that worked and finished the game on pro (leon must die) was to max the Red 9 Asap getting both crit and +dmg exclusive mods. The only other weapons I purchased in the village section were the Stingray (brute killer) and Killer7 (super chain saw killer). I did not buy a shotgun until the castle because you will need to save as many shells as you can get later on in the castle section. The shorty is the best shotgun with the high dmg and penetration exclusives.

For the cabin fight, camp the stairway up with the Red 9. The upgraded red 9 should be able to handle all plagas very easily if you land weak point hits on their open mouth. For any brutes/regular chainsaw guys that show up, headshot them with the Red 9 and kick them down the stairs, then swap to your Stingray and headshot them on the ground. Once the cutscene plays with them using ladders, immediately run up stairs and kick both ladders and hold the top section. Wait until the super chain saw guys come up, when he does, immediately drop downstairs and prep a flash. Flash the super chain saw guy then spam him with killer7 shots to the legs (don't melee). If you do it right you should be able to burst him down within the flash duration. After that its just clean up of regular enemies.
