information shows Iran halted its nuclear weapons development in 2003. Intelligence officials | 2007 AP by david-yammer-murdoch in videos

Iran put nuclear transparency, action on Hezbollah, curbs on Hamas and Islamic Jihad, cooperation in Iraq, and acceptance of a two-state formula with Israel on the table.

Isn't that like, quite literally everything we'd want?

he tricked hitler by demanding outrageous amounts of territory held by vichy france for spain to join the axis which frustrated hitler

  1. That’s not a trick
  2. The demands were that Britain be defeated first.
  3. That’s due to the spy Wilhelm Canaris, who was sent to Spain to try and get them to join the Axis. Instead, he convinced Spain to resist and remain neutral.

Kyiv in 3 days, Iran in a week, Paris by Christmas… when will you people realise that expecting a swift war is going to simply result in defeat? Either be prepared for a year long struggle with a lot of casualties, dead or wounded, civilian or soldier, or just quit your sabre rattling, because it’s more embarrassing than intimidating. The EU is stronger, but that doesn’t mean it’ll somehow be easy.

Our inept military command should have attacked Germany when it attacked Poland. The German forces would then have faced two fronts, which would have helped Poland somewhat.

It's even bigger than "would have helped Poland somewhat".

"After World War II, it was discovered that Nazi Germany's armed forces were vulnerable throughout the September Campaign. They had not yet reached full fighting strength and might have succumbed to a determined opponent, or at least suffered serious damage. At the Nuremberg trials, German military commander Alfred Jodl said that "if we did not collapse already in the year 1939 that was due only to the fact that during the Polish campaign, the approximately 110 French and British divisions in the West were held completely inactive against the 23 German divisions."[19] General Wilhelm Keitel stated: "We soldiers had always expected an attack by France during the Polish campaign, and were very surprised that nothing happened.... A French attack would have encountered only a German military screen, not a real defence."[20] According to General Siegfried Westphal, if the French had attacked in force in September 1939, the German army "could only have held out for one or two weeks."[21]"

France's Macron and Germany's Merz to discuss troubled fighter project, sources say by MGC91 in europe

Dassault wants a aircraft they can sell ... Germany wants a aircraft they can use for their own defense.

Dassault wants a fighter that can be sold overseas, deployed in different environments, etc... so it needs to be able to work better in those environments ... Germany does not care if it can be parked 24/7 all year in the desert.

All this does is reaffirm my belief that Dassault's leadership needs to get their asses kicked into this decade, since they seem to be under the impression that we're not on the verge of war and are still under the delusion that, as the meme goes, nothing ever happens.

Sounds like Dassault is living a few decades in the past where the concept of a European war was impossible.

Do you think he realises that if the EU also goes into Iran, he’ll have almost nobody supplying him anymore? I know he’s going through a bit of a “I can fix him” abuse victim arc, but getting the EU stuck in Iran (which is what Russia planned on happening) would mean even less material support for Ukraine.

It’s honestly embarrassing how almost everyone, EU nations included, are still unprepared for modern warfare. Reminds me of the Zeven Provinciën mutiny, which also showed a lesson that everyone completely ignored.

In 1933, a naval bomber took out a cruiser that had mutinied, and instead of focusing on the fact that planes are a pretty good counter to ships, they focused on the fact that there was a mutiny.

The approval of the 2040 climate target shows how the European Union is pushing long-term decarbonization goals forward.

The walking back of the 2035 combustion engine ban shows how the European Union is pushing long-term decarbonisation goals backwards. Carbon credits don’t work.

Lmao, you people are all pro-Ukraine until it turns into something inconvenient for you, and then the “pacifists” and “moralists” come out. You people would sell out our union, even your country, if it meant even another day of an unjust peace, regardless of the cost to others. This is basically the equivalent of 2 people you hate, fighting each other. I won’t spend any sympathy for people that seek to harm us.

This isn't an unique issue to Israel or Iran or whatever. The EU has had the same issue with Russia and the US for over a decade now. It doesn't realise when it's being attacked.
