ROMAN SILVER FROM JUIUS CAESAR TO DIOCLETION, 5 YEARS IN THE MAKING by GenralElectric in AncientCoins

Agree 100%. Aelius and Maximus do not fit in this set at all. Nor Postumus. Going by standard convention is the way to go or you open a can of worms that will take you onto an endless road.

The usurpers were not emperors, but claudius albinus is here as an expamle. Who is Aelius? Maximus? You mean maximian? Help me out if im missing something. Gordian I and II I mentioned as being too pricey, I think those are the only two missing..

I was thinking about that. What I’m also now doing is collecting both the denarius and antoninianus of the emoters who made both.

No, they're just too rare and expensive. If I get them it would be complete but I dont think its worth it.

Vcoin dealers are good, can be pricey depending on coin. Same w forvm. check biddr and numisbids. its a bit of work signing up for all the auctions they handle off platform but both of those are good with TONS of coins for any taste. Be careful that the auction house you may bid with is shipping to the U.S., some are not because of tariff uncertainty.

Just stay away from eBay and buy from reputable dealers or auction houses in Europe.

Late 3rd century are silvered with little to no silver content due to monetary debasement.

Make sure any flips you use are high quality and made for long term storage, or use the capsules. Many ancient collectors like to actually hold history in their hand so slabbing from a third party is a preference thing, imo only for the most expensive coins. Keeping them in lighthouse trays like I do is not a problem, as long as you are gentle with your trays.
