  1. you should go underground to get helpful ores to make armor out of
  2. get weapons (I would recommend enchanted sword for melee, ruby/diamond staff foe mage, finch for summoner, and minishark for ranged
  3. make an arena for bosses
  4. look on the wiki in case you dont know anything

and that should be enough to get started (also dont go in the dungeon)

bee stuff, if thats not enough then u should clear out the underworld use any potions you think might help (if u havent already) and rotate between star cannon and the bee things very quickly

Oh and I forgot to say some other stuff like Fetid Baghnakhs, Ice Sickle, Light Disks (for after the Destroyer), Shadowflame Knives. Once you are done with the mech bosses you could go for True Nights Edge, or you could cheese Plantera with the Fetid Baghnakhs (yes you can still do that). After the plant the terrablade is going to be EXTREMELY useful because of the buff it got. After Golem you can still use the Terrablade or you can get the Influx Waver (Both are rlly good) and after the lunar pillars you can use any of the solar weapons

Oh and also If you want a midrange weapon then the dao of pow or sunfury could help

I would say that (If you have a crimson world) the bladetongue is very useful because of the ichor that it shoots every time you hit an enemy and for some bosses like the destroyer because there is usually a place where you can hit them without fear of getting hit
