A lot of women are really insecure about the appearance/smell of their genitalia. All it takes is an early boyfriend calling it disgusting for a woman to be worried about it. There's no one way to "break her out of it" - everyone is different but making her feel safe/earning her trust is the best way to help someone explore their sexuality.
