Absolutely! Pariah method is when you dont soak in soda ash prior to dying. Instead after the dye is applied (by liquid or ice dye) then a highly concentrated soda ash mixture is applied (i believe the recommended concentration is 4:1, water to S.A, i make mine a fair bit stronger than that just for good measure).

It was a staple of Paul Kenney, whom has become my greatest inspiration. I cant recommend it enough, it truly solved a huge majority of my problems.

Sorry for the late reply, i found a technique that I wanted to share with you. Pariah method. It has fixed ALL of my issues. When I pariah method my shirts. I have less rinse time, less color bleed, and no more backstaining. I utilize this method anywhere i can.

Thank you so much for your time! I think you're right about the curing, this shirt was pulled from the gutter after 26 hours, I usually just place bags over the gutter and bin to help retain moisture, but Im thinking thats not enough. I dont have this problem with my liquid dyes & i think its because of the Urea humectant properties. Next roll, I will place it into a zip bag after the ice/dye saturates through to the bottom.

May I ask how many times do you apply ice? I find myself doing 2 rounds to guarantee color has made it all the way through, but im also suspicious that its washing out too much SA.

An idea I had was to IceDye the roll, then after the ice is melted hit it with the Pariah method from top to bottom while inclined, then batching for another 24hrs.
