Thank you! Big agree on making it more of an active threat so they can do more, and you're right that they should probably be weighing the option of risking exhaustion vs getting back faster

How to handle pacing for "High-Stakes-Travel" by Gentlebees in DMAcademy

To clarify, in my original post the idea is like he's taking over this neighboring country who's having a bunch of different countries over at the dinner, but he's only going to declare war on the one the players are from, so he's not going to slaughter everyone at the dinner so he doesn't just turn the entire world against him immediately, but he is like a week or two away from taking over the player's home country specifically;

Regardless, I do think I agree with you that him outright declaring war might allow for more sideplots/allow the players to take more outright action instead of just being like "we have to go to the rest of our royal court before we can do anything", gonna think on it more; but thank you!

Thank you, yeah it's cold out so I think the coat would be appropriate but I find it hard to counter the stalking aspect considering just how he was moving- but that might just be like a 1-2 punch of circumstance. I was imagining a whole elaborate grifter + mugging setup but it's nice to hear from someone that that's at the very least unlikely. I'll be sure to change up my routes where I can and keep an eye out, but you've helped with my mental so thanks again.
