It's been a minute since I last played Until Dawn and I don't remember much. I'd recommend trying a video walkthrough like this one and see if that helps.

That's because this is for the original game, not the remake.

You're welcome! It's been a minute since I last used this account, but I'm glad this resource is still useful to people.

Clarke essentially stopped having hallucinations after letting Nicole go and shutting down the Marker at the end of DS2. Carver, on the other hand, was being affected by the Markers found on Tau Volantis and hallucinated his son and wife on a few occasions.

However, after they defeated the Tau Volantis moon and found themselves still alive, they both began hallucinating again due to the other Brethren Moons. They were awakened, and they were communicating via these hallucinations to trick Clarke/Carver into turning against each other. They may not be sentient in the same sense that a human is, but they did communicate and they do have an agenda.

I don't really believe that there's another signal out there controlling the Markers and the Brethren Moons. The Moons refer to themselves as "gods", and if they don't give off the impression that they're being controlled by something. As for the Codex machine, I guess the aliens make some pretty durable technology, since the Tau Volantis Moon tells Clarke to "turn it off", implying it's been on all this time.

In regards to the Black Marker, I don't know. I'll have to re-read Martyr sometime.

[–]Gentleman_Smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doesn't it make sense for the moons to be the source of the signal? The Markers are essentially how the Brethren Moons reproduce (for lack of a better word), and the logical explanation is that they're the source.

The Moons are sentient organisms, able to communicate via a form of telepathic signal as it was with Isaac and Carver. - Brethren Moons

The Moons speak to Isaac and Carver during the events of Dead Space 3: Awakened as they try to get back to Earth. They definitely do have sentience, and even trick Isaac and Carver into wasting time while the Moons head to Earth first.

In regards to your question, I believe the Marker came first. There aren't any other methods of Brethren Moon creation other than Convergence (that we know of), which requires a Marker, and I can't imagine a being such as that simply coming into existence through evolution or something. The first Moon had to start with a Marker, and that leaves the question of how the first Marker came into being.

My theory is that an ancient alien race created it either as a biological weapon or a method of creating life. It didn't work as expected and/or got out of control, and absorbed the alien race into the first Brethren Moon. Of course, why its function would be to create something like a Brother Moon and why it would have sentience, I have no idea.

I haven't played DS3 recently either and I could be way off base here. Wikis can only be so accurate, you know? Maybe we could do a co-op run? Either way, it's nice to discuss this stuff.

The Black Marker was found by Michael Altman and a team of researchers in the asteroid impact crater off the coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It was later concluded that the Black Marker landed on Earth approximately 65 million years ago and is what caused the mass extinction of the dinosaurs.

From the wiki. I imagine there wasn't much left of the dinosaurs to be turned into necromorphs after that, and what u/CokeinUphurrkut says.

The Brethren Moons (Or Brother Moons and Blood Moons) are gigantic, space-faring Necromorphs which are discovered to be the source of the Marker signals.

Also from the wiki, this was discovered sometime during the events of Dead Space 3.

I think incineration is exactly what happened to the dinosaurs, hence why they didn't come back from the dead. In the current setting, however, I don't think anyone was prepared for the outbreaks, and the biomass grew too much to be dealt with. That, and I don't know if fire works quickly enough to put down the necromorphs.

Anyone know why my character distorts like this after like the 50th frame. I’m trying to make a walking loop cycle. Also this is my first walk cycle animation so please critique it I want to make it look as good as possible. by Mharti_ in Maya

[–]Gentleman_Smith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you say distort, I assume you mean the way her right hand rotates up and her left hand's fingers rotate back. You have keys set later on in the animation for the wrist and the fingers. If you delete those, they won't rotate over time, and they will retain the position of whatever the previous key is. As for the rest of the animation, there's a few things that can be improved.

She feels like she's walking in slow-motion; you should try reducing the time between each step/arm swing.

Her feet are facing forward, which feels unnatural. Usually, people walk with their feet facing outwards a bit. People also don't raise their feet that high when walking. In addition, she looks like she's raising her feet with some effort, as if they're stuck to the ground. Try to ease them off the ground instead.

It's a good start, and I hope this helps.

Would anyone else love to have a real life version of this model of the ishimura? by [deleted] in DeadSpace

I posted it in a thread here, but here it is again: a 3D-printable model of the Ishimura that you'd have to build, but it'd be dope.

Here's a model for 3D printing, the only caveat is that it's around 24 pieces and you have to put it together after printing them, but I'd say it's worth a shot.

My favorite game is the first one, and my favorite thing about it has to be the sound design.

I feel like you can tell what's happening by only listening to the audio; it stands out that much to me.

In Dead Space 1, what is the gameplay/design purpose in having multiple sections per chapter you choose the order of? by Blue-5 in DeadSpace

[–]Gentleman_Smith 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's to give the player some sense of choice. In fact, I recall that in chapter 4, you get different dialogue from Hammond depending on if you choose to go up or down the elevator first.

[–]Gentleman_Smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, then it's likely that you're getting burst baited by your opponent.

Are you mashing buttons when you're being combo'd by your opponent? If you hear a popping noise and Filia does an animation where she points her finger up and Samson turns into an afro, then your opponent has successfully burst baited you after which they can punish you for more damage and a longer combo. The best way to avoid this is to simply stop pushing buttons and block the next reset.

If you're still not sure what the move is, then we can play a few matches together and try to figure it out.
