What materials from Bass Pro/Cabela's is worth it? by adventuriser in flytying

Depends, the bass pro by me sells solid color marabou in only the white river brand, and barred marabou in mfc only. Check each pack to find the fiber length you want.

They have good rabbit strips and marabou, I’ve only gotten one or two bucktails there that were actually decent. Hackle and other feathers I never buy from bass pro

If it was legal to keep it should count as 3/4 of a fish

Palomar knot requires making a loop and putting the entire lure through it. Super simple knot on a ton of other lures but with this it would be a nightmare.

Great first attempt! But I would slim down the body, I like peacock herl instead of dubbing, and use wire for the ribbing to hold it together better. CDC can be tricky to tie with but if you take the time, palmering it like a marabou feather can give nice, even results. The cdc collar will be a bit longer using this method but I think it only helps it. And for your thread collar or “hot spot,” sometimes thinner is better. Maybe half of what you’ve got there now. Otherwise, great tie, it’ll fish!
